Days Inn by Wyndham Frederick

This was one of the cheaper places to stay at so I'm trying to keep that in mind when I review it. Positives: Price - One of the cheaper places to stay. Location - It's about 20 mins away from the heart of DC but being on the outskirts, it's a little easier to navigate to restaurants and grocery stores in the area. The "OK": There is continental breakfast served from 6-9 AM. However, I found it very limiting compared to other hotels. There were two kinds of cereal, yogurt, and waffles. For drinks, they had milk, coffee and juice. No eggs, breads, or meats were served. Negatives: Facility- It's definitely an older facility and not a lot of updates have been made to it. One very old ice machine worked out of the two. The bathroom tubs and the flooring did look new but most everything else had an older look to it. Beds - The beds, while clean were very firm. I'm used to firm beds in a hotel but these were exceptionally firm. They did not feel comfortable to me. 2ND floor - We were placed in a room on the second floor and that's fine but it's worth noting that I did not see an elevator and the stairs and walkway to the rooms are all outdoors so please keep that in mind if you have a handicap member in the family. AC- Our first room that we were placed in, the AC did not work and I asked to be placed in another room the next day. Unfortunately, they didn't have another room at the time but once they got one cleaned later that day, we were placed in another room.

Absolutely terrible. I mistakenly thought that since I was arriving late and leaving in the morning, it would be OK for just one night. No. Do NOT come here. The poor reviews are very accurate. This hotel is more like a seedy motel in a sketchy location. There are no elevators. The rooms are not cleaned well, nor are they well maintained. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed in where the receptionist was being a glass barrier. If you must stay here, bring flip flops for the shower, possibly your own linen, and wipe everything down.

The office representatives are polite and professional. The rooms are clean and fresh. It's in a convenient area. Grocery stores, banks, convenient stores, restaurants like McDonald's, Little Caesars, and IHOP are near by. Laundry facility is right in the area. The location is not far from the freeway. I would stay here again.
