I accidentally booked the wrong date through Expedia, and although Expedia reached out to the hotel on my behalf, the hotel refused to refund the payment. Unfortunately, the stay itself was also disappointing. Our room had noticeable scuff marks on the walls, the bathroom was not clean, and the toilet had trouble flushing. There was also missing artwork above one of the beds, which made the room feel unfinished. During our visit to the pool area, we found there were no towels available. On top of that, our room keys stopped working multiple times, and we had to return to the front desk to have them reset. I contacted the general manager regarding these issues but never received a response. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this hotel.
I stayed at the Super 8 in Ajax with my daughter’s hockey team, and our experience was extremely disappointing. We discovered what looked like dried vomit on the side of our bed, and the rest of the room didn’t feel clean at all. To make matters worse, our friends in the room across from us reported issues with bed bugs, which was incredibly unsettling—especially with a group of kids staying there. This stay did not feel comfortable or overly safe, and based on this experience, I will not be returning in the future. I genuinely hope management takes immediate steps to improve cleanliness and overall upkeep.
If I could give service a zero I would. I stayed at this hotel a few nights ago and honestly the morning was the most uncomfortable and bizarre experience I have ever had. My partner had to leave early for work and I had plans to attend later in the day and therefore left at a different time. First my partner had gone down to breakfast a few minutes early (five at the most) and politely asked if it was set up. The food was out and the lights were on which was why they had asked but instead of saying “sure go ahead” or “i’m sorry it will just be a minute” my partner got yelled at and told they’d have to wait. (My partner left and chose not to have breakfast because it was so uncomfortable). Then at 10:20…. 40 minutes before I had to check out…. I got a knock at my door and when I called out “hello” they wouldn’t answer. They instead stood there and a few minutes later knocked again. By the third time I called out…. (I felt uncomfortable so I didn’t answer the door but rather called through it because it was just a random man and they hadn’t called “house keeping” or “guest services” or anything of that nature)… they gave in and just asked if I would be checking out. I told them I would be checking out for 11:00 I had no intentions of checking out late but I still had 40 minutes. It was the most uncomfortable experience I have ever had in a hotel in my life. As a woman travelling alone it felt very nerve racking. I didn’t stay after that. I immediately packed my bags called my partner and raced to check out and leave. I understand calling the guests or popping by if it was 11:00 or even 10 minutes too but 40-45 minutes early is crazy to knock multiples times and wait outside a door.
DO NOT GO TO THIS MOTEL.. We arrived at this disgusting Super 8 . When we walked in it smelled of cigarettes and it appeared somewhat dirty. Being hopeful we checked at the cost of $404.00 . We headed to our room,in the elevator someone had spilled coffee. We walked through the door of our room and it smelled even worse then the smell at the front desk. There were stains on the carpet,the TV receiver box was hanging off the wall there was splatter of l dont know what on the walls,the air vent was clogged full with dirt, the curtains were falling off the rods,there were stains on the curtains,stains on the bathroom sink, dirt and hair on the floor in the bathroom. The wallpaper was coming off the wall in the bathroom. I was waiting for the bugs to start crawling out ..I didnt see any but the filth of this room would be a perfect place for them. We told the front desk guy we were not staying due to the VERY dirty room. We showed him the photos and he said that we would have to talk to the manager in the AM . We called in the morning and spoke to the rude day manager. We explained the suitation and he said NO he refused to give us any money back. He said the motel was fully booked but yet he said that we were offered another room . How can there be another room available when we refused the last and only room? So we said no and left the building. NO refund and he could care less that we were unhappy.
