Customer experiences
Just had the worst experience ever! Took my 16yo to the ER at 12:30pm, they took her at 2:30 for x-rays and sent her back to the waiting room. Now granted it was busy so that is understandable but to still be in the waiting room at 5:30 is insane! My child fell down stairs and hurt her knee, she can’t even put pressure on it and they could see that she was limping. The lady in triage asked her what was her pain level walking on it she told her a 7 and she asked what was it sitting down she told her it didn’t hurt as much sitting down. So of course it’s not gonna hurt as much sitting down then walking on it those people had us wait that long and to say that my daughters pain was not of a severity! This lady did not even check to see if her knee was swollen so how can you tell! And to expect me to sign that paper saying that I’m leaving the ER and whatever happens afterwards is on me, absolutely not! I stayed there that long because that is my child and I know that there are people there with more severe injuries but to see three groups of different people to be seen before my child is definitely insane! And what’s sadder if I hadn’t left they would of probably made us wait all night!
Never have I ever had the rudest nurses in my life. My Son an his girl was involved in a motorcycle accident, Couldn't even ask questions without being yelled at. Was asked to stand in hallway while they took x-rays, cool. Only looked towards my Sons girls room an got yelled at to stay in the room. Then the cops were called for us to go to the lobby, so we went to smoke an went to go back in an was told we weren't allowed in the hospital. I asked what about my Son, we wasn't rude they were, he is a adult,he can call you . People wonder why people go to St Vincent's. My Son broke his back an arm. His girl had foot trauma, super bad. A nurse said they had to get permission from his girl to tell us anything. Was told to stay in the room, then here comes cops again. Where is the Compassion an understanding , These 2 Nurses need different professions. I know 100 that would not have happened at St Vincent's.!!!!!!!
My dad was a patient here in May 2025. Nearly every employee, nurses, doctors, kitchen, housekeepers, security, were the best. We were treated with respect and kindness and understanding throughout the entire time my dad was there. I want to add, I saw a review after I posted mine, that mentioned understocked restrooms and tables in the eating area near the dining area not cleaned regularly. I agree with that statement. More than once, I went into a restroom with little or no toilet paper and I don’t remember seeing any employee cleaning the tables in the cafeteria area.
Deaconess Midtown Hospital has always been exceptional during my visits and stays. Every staff member I encountered treated me with the utmost respect, compassion, and kindness, making challenging times feel a little more manageable. Their dedication to patient care is truly inspiring. As the transition to Memorial Hospital takes place in my area, I sincerely hope Deaconess’s exemplary approach to care is passed along. Memorial could benefit from some retraining in the areas of compassion, respect, and kindness—qualities that Deaconess has mastered. Deaconess Midtown sets a high standard, and I hope it serves as a model for the future.
Deaconess Midtown Hospital is a hospital.
