I know a spa service is good when my face and body are in such a state of relaxation that my eyelids are droopy and my vision is a little blurry (temporarily, of course). That was my experience after going to Essence Head Spa and Massage for a head spa and facial. I’ve always wanted to try a head spa after seeing videos online of the waterfall shower equipment, and was thrilled to see this service being offered close to me. I signed up for The Supreme Scalp Experience and their Essence Facial Selections. Location and Ambience: Essence is located on the second floor of a building with ample parking. The ambience is immediately and noticeably calm and relaxing upon entering. I occasionally heard traffic noise during my head spa. I think that’s because the room where I had my head spa was on the side of the building facing the main road. I went to a different room for my facial and heard no traffic noise. This occasion noise was not a dealbreaker for me, but something to consider if that is something you’re sensitive to. Lily >.< : I received both treatments with Lily, who is wonderful! She is very attentive and gracious. She was always making sure I was comfortable. She doesn’t engage in small talk, which is a plus for me. My favorite thing to do during spa treatments is being completely silent while my skin gets mashed on. The Supreme Scalp Experience: Oh man, if this is The Supreme Scalp Experience, I can’t even imagine how the VIP Luxury VIP Ritual is. The experience started with a dry scalp massage and what felt like the utilization of essential oils (not in the hair but on the forehead, neck, and upper back). Then there was hair washing with a deep tissue neck and upper back massage. As a chronically stressed girlie, I really needed this, and Lily tirelessly went to work on my upper back knots. Then, the moment I’ve been waiting for, I got to experience the waterfall hair wash. It was everything I could imagine, and I was blissed out. The water the entire time was the perfect warm temperature. The experience ended with a hair-drying session. Essence Facial Selections: This facial was amazing. I think I was on the receiving end of everything I could ever want in a facial (disclaimer: as my eyes were closed during this, I could only guess based on how it felt): dermabrasion, skin scrubber, (I think) radio frequency, and (definitely) red light. I had a mask applied as well and, when it was all said and done, felt absolutely reborn after, at least my face did. I really enjoyed both treatments and felt that the prices were very reasonable for what I received. So much so that I booked a deep tissue massage with Lily. I'm so grateful for her hard work and efforts on my upper back knots, and I can't wait to become an overcooked, limp noodle after my future deep tissue massage with her.

had an amazing experience with Anna at Essence Massage. She has such a calming energy and immediately made me feel comfortable. The massage was easily one of the best I’ve had, perfect pressure, super attentive, and she worked out tension I didn’t even realize I was holding. Went in for a couples massage with my fiance. Wonderful massage! Anna and Lilly were top notch. We really enjoyed the 90 mins. so relaxing we both fell asleep for a bit. The reviews and the pricing were great too!

This is my second time at Essence (the first a couples massage with my husband in September). This time, I received the Supreme Scalp Experience from Anna - from start to finish, it was the most enjoyable, relaxing service I’ve ever received. This included facial treatment, phenomenal shoulder, neck, scalp & temple massage and candling - 90 minutes of pure bliss. I cannot WAIT to come back for a different, “new to me” treatment! Thank you Anna for such a wonderful time! Can’t wait to see you again!
