We contacted Mike Long and Florida Roof Consulting & Inspection Services to inspect a TPO roof installed on our home by Transparent Roofing, an installation that went on from April to September 2021. We suspected the roof was installed improperly at the start as we began seeing water intrusion issues immediately inside our home. Every room has been damaged - from leaking ceilings, dripping water from recessed lights, sheet rock turned to clay and buckling flooring. These water issues persist today despite the roofing company assuring us the issues have been addressed. Mike responded immediately to my inquiry and scheduled a time to come out in days. He called me to reconfirm the appointment, showed up on time and prepared. He was extremely knowledgeable, thorough, neat, and answered all of our questions. He also charged a very fair rate for a high value service. The report he produced was so thorough, documenting with photos more than 110 areas of fault in the newly installed roof. Mike was able to document everything from membrane related defects and materials not matching what was on the permit, to improperly installed drains and coping, to failed and absent welds and more. His report clearly showed us the source of our water intrusion problems, all of which stemmed from the bad roof installation! This report is vital for us to use to try to get our money back from Transparent Roofing and also to inform the new roofing company we hired that will be doing the repairs. I don’t know what we would have done without the help of Mike and Florida Roof Consulting & Inspection Services. I just wish we would have known about his services sooner and maybe some of this drama and damage could have been prevented.
