Customer experiences
Make sure you order the Tasmanian oysters with some sort of blood orange sauce or something, unbelievable! Also on my recommendation, have the fish, SO FRESH! And for desert have the rhubarb. I also have dietary restrictions and they were so obliging and helpful and still wanted to be creative. Next level creative chefs! Highly recommend this place
A perfect place for dinner. The food was delicious and the service was good. We enjoyed the bar, which offered a wide selection of cocktails, thanks to Paola the bartender, for kindly explained the cocktail menu and helping us make our selection.
Freyja's Chef Selection Menu is seriously impressive. Every plate looks amazing, the lamb was perfectly cooked and the dessert were a fun mix of textures and sweetness. The vibe is stylish but not stuffy, and the staff are friendly and really know their stuff.
Came here for dinner and had the chef's selection menu which includes four courses; the staff will ask if you have a preference for more meat or fish but other than that the dishes are pretty much left to the chefs to prepare. I went for the standard and added on the sourdough and their signature waffle served with Yarra Valley trout roe; both of which were very tasty. The sourdough crust has the perfect crunch and the waffle was warm and toasty, mildly sweet and paired well with the herb sour cream mix and the burst of briny trout roe. For my chef's selection menu, nine dishes were served over four courses (snacks, entrees, mains, desserts) which included mussel, beef heart skewer, beetroot with smoked eel, 'Taste of Ramarro' salad with a citrusy dressing, venison sausage with bone marrow and berry mole, cauliflower with a complex sauce of ras el hanout and sourdough miso, hummus and brussel sprouts, mascarpone topped with rhubarb and verjus jelly, and a glass of citrus sorbet with orange, carrot puree and toasted meringue. The menu had a lot more vegetables than I had expected, however I enjoyed all the dishes; they were well executed and flavour packed without masking the natural taste of the ingredients. Overall it was a tasty and satisfying meal and the service was good. Highly recommend the sourdough and waffle.
