George Inn

The George in Finchdean were incredible hosts for our Dash Collective Moonlight event. From the first message to the last headtorch leaving the pub, nothing was too much trouble. Communication was spot on, the team were welcoming, and the food was absolutely top tier after a wet and windy night on the trails. A proper local gem with people who genuinely care. We’ll be back.

We enjoyed an early evening family meal for 5 adults and 2 children on 06/02/2026. We were welcomed warmly on arrival, there was a good choice of beers and an open fire. The food was good, although one diner was slightly disappointed with the fish 'n' chips. We will definitely return, maybe in warmer weather to enjoy the pub garden.

A fabulous pub in a lovely country setting can only be bettered by one that has superb, friendly staff and scrummy food - this it, look no further! Three choices of Sunday roast were had by us - chicken, pork belly & the trio of meats including beef. All served with huge yorkshires, roast parsnips, carrots & potatoes & accompanied by the most decadent, flavoursome & glossy gravy 😋 2 puddings were had, a sticky toffee & the days special of a caramel & whisky sponge - both served with vanilla ice cream. The stars of the meal were clearly the gravy & the sticky toffee pudding. Very attentive & everyone friendly staff. This is clearly a pub that sells out its covers, so it's highly recommended to book.
