My first time using this pharmacy. All the staff were very polite and helpful. Even though they were having difficulties with their credit card system I was still in and out quickly. 5 stars!

This pharmacy was recommended by my doctor, and I'd been using them for the past 9 months to fill my hormone replacement therapy script. They offer a discount when you fill for more than 30 days. I don't have insurance, so I prefer to refill as needed because it's more affordable for my budget. Recently my doctor suggested a new medication to help with inflammation. She sent the request to Custom RX (Now Belmar Pharmacy), and they called to confirm that I wanted both prescriptions filled. The price was nearly $270 which was shocking. The HRT costs about $89 a month, so I assumed that the new medication was causing the elevation in price. They processed my order, and when I went to pick it up, it was bagged and ready. I paid and left. After I got home and opened the bag I understood what happened. They filled both prescriptions for 90 days. I had a 3 month supply of a new medication that I had never tried. Unfortunately, the dose is too high for me causing disorganized thinking, racing thoughts, complete loss of appetite and anxiety. I conferred with my physician again, and she sent in a lower dose, which my body is tolerating better. (That prescription was filled for 30 days, btw) But now I have a 3 month supply of a medication I can't take. I returned to the pharmacy today and explained the incident as described. The tech brought out a pharmacist, who I had to reexplain the problem to again, and who seemed to doubt the side effects that I described. She told me that I should ask my doctor for tablets next time so I can break them into the dosage that works best for me. How would I even know that was an option? Why wasn't that recommended in the first place? And why was it filled for 90 days when I've explain that I can only afford a month to month refill? Never once in my history of using this pharmacy have I filled for more than 30 days. Now I have a 3 month prescription that is not useable, not to mention the financial loss. The pharmacist did not care and had no recommendations on how to resolve the problem, outside of monitoring how they fill my prescriptions in the future. I feel hustled and I won't be using this business to fulfill my needs in the future.

I recently called in a script for Progesterone from this pharmacy and w/o any follow-up communication via tracking info, found out they had never filled this script nor contacted me about the delay. Christine, who hesitated to give me her name when I asked who I was speaking to, said they had switched to UPS instead of USPS which they have always used in the past for my scripts. When I asked why I was never contacted about such a change and that I have always used a P.O. Box which had been the case for two yrs w/them, she said then that they can ship via USPS. I said if that’s the case, why wasn’t my order shipped via USPS and she said the decision was ‘a Corporate one’, end of discussion. It felt that she was backtracking and that my order was probably waylaid in some holding bin for further direction, go figure..! Needless to say, I’ll be contacting my Dr’s office to let them know of this snafu and to consider using a different compounding pharmacy to refer their patients to. In the meantime, I am seeking a different compounding pharmacy to do business with and recommend doing so yourself as their customer service is questionable.
