TKS HOUSETKS HOUSE

This is a continuation of the review I left on Google Reviews for Gilda’s West Kentuckiana since this review deals more with this location. On May of 2025 Karen Morrison the CEO and President of Gilda’s Kentuckiana called my wife to set up a meeting to discuss the negative review I posted on Gilda's West and reports of my wife’s “bad” behavior that supposedly have been taken place over the past 4 years but never addressed. When my wife tries to get more details on these new founded accusations, Karen keeps saying we will discuss it in the meeting. We thought the meeting was going to be about the complaint we filed against Gilda’s West. But Karen flipped the scenario and the whole phone conversation was to make Gilda’s appear to be a victim of our behavior. For example, my wife verbally abusing staff and other members which is a total reversal of what actually happened. Karen makes statements like; you have been verbally abusing others. But Karen refuses to go into details on when and where these incidents happened. As the conversation goes on Karen Morrison, the CEO and President of a company who states we “strive to embody empathy, compassion, and integrity in all that we do. Our shared goal is to make a meaningful and positive difference in the lives of those facing cancer.” makes statements to a person struggling with the side effects of cancer, cancer treatments, chronic pain and depression that my wife is an “impediment to the other 4000 people that Gilda’s takes care of.” Karen goes as far as to laugh at my wife as my wife explains, in tears, her cancer struggle. Laughing at my wife who thought Gilda's was supposed to be a safe haven for her. They decided to meet at Gilda’s Clubhouse Grinstead and have a meeting to get a resolution to the sudden attacks and implications on my wife’s character instead of addressing the reported unprofessional abusive behavior of Gilda’s staff. My wife and I are called into a meeting at Gilda’s Club House so we can learn of the details of the accusations brought against my wife’s character and about the negative review I posted on Google Reviews. They wanted both of us to self-incriminate ourselves by signing a paper based on false information and lies or we would be banned for life from all of Gilda’s locations. Several of the accusations against my wife are pulled out of context from complaints we filed against their staff members. They have turned describing our offense, in a complaint, into the following “…disrespectful and demeaning language about groups of people, participants, staff, and volunteers.” Again, these were our complaints about their behavior, now used against us. At no time has my wife ever been notified of any of these accusations and lies until after the review and complaint against Joyce (a volunteer). Karen said that Sylvia told her she would not characterize what happened as an attack so the matter was settled. That’s how they fix staff issues? During the meeting Karen and Leah would bring up these past accusations and refused to let my wife defend herself against false claims or to get more details. Karen and Leah would either interrupt my wife, switch subjects, say we are not here to rehash the past (past that they are bringing up) or flat-out say I really have no interest to go back and hear about your incident. They ignored going into details on the accusations against my wife, started backtracking and gaslighting the whole time. Saying, “I never said that” when we have recordings to prove otherwise. They were focused only on getting us to sign the agreement which basically states that we acknowledge all of the accusations to be true and will never do any of these things again or else be banned for life. All of this is captured in the audio recordings of the meeting. Their final response was let’s agree to disagree, sign the paper or never come back. We refused to sign and left. I believe it was easier for them to fabricate a character attack on us than to correct unprofessional abusive behavioral issues with their staff.

Very nice facility. We have used it multiple times for work retreats. Their meeting room can hold 50 people comfortably at round tables. They have a full kitchen and are a nicely decorated location.

I have never been in the clubhouse, but have been helped virtually with a great deal of support. I belonged to a support group, Wellness 1 Gilda’s Club, Kentuckiana, for a few years as I walked my cancer journey. Now I have transitioned to a Beyond Cancer group. I’m so thankful for Gilda’s Club.

Gilda's Club has a wonderful reputation for doing great work. I was at Gilda's Club for a meeting, but was able to take a tour of this brand new facility and it is very impressive. I was also able to meet a couple of volunteers and one employee (approx. 100 volunteers for every 1 paid employee), and everyone was very nice and accommodating. I just completed an application to volunteer at Gilda's Club here in Louisville.
