Customer experiences
What an incredible shop! We were able to spend a blissful hour looking at all the wonderfully organized yarn, fabric, books and notions. I loved the store's layout - so bright and open. Samples of finished knits and sewn items everywhere to inspire a Maker. Also it was very easy to project plan and get all the bits tou need (and a good few you just plain want 🙂). The absolute highlight were the two members of staff Jen ans Kathleen who were welcoming, warm, clearly experienced at customer service; exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us through our purchase choices. This is an easy shop to get to on the bus line, and there's coffee and cake nearby to refuel. 11/10 highly recommend.
Great wee place! Literally has all you could possibly need for various handcrafts, including spinning! Don't even get me started on the chicken buttons 10/10 Brought by a friend while she was trying to find a Tunisian crochet hook. As a (very) amateur knitter, I'd definitely come back for wool or some of the classes as all I can knit are straight lines (scarf central). I did leave with some embroidery and cross stitch kits, which we've had great fun doing. Haven't done cross stitch in years so very out of practice, but eager to go back to get more of the kits before delving head first into making my own patterns. Lovely fabric selection and having been recently given back my sewing machine, shall be back for fabric too 🫡 The staff were also really nice and particularly helpful to my friend in her hunt for a very specific size and style of hook.
Lovely shop with a fantastic selection of yarn across a range of different price points. Visited with my 11 yo and we were made to feel so welcome. Lots of interesting info given about the different yarns.
This is probably my favourite yarn store in Edinburgh. They have a fantastic selection and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Very importantly for me, when they first opened in their new premises their wheelchair ramp wasn't good enough to cope with how big the step at the front was. They were very saddened as they'd tried to put access in, and they said they'd see what could be done. I needed some yarn similar to stuff I bought before and so I popped along, half expecting the same issues as before. I was completely wrong. Everything I had mentioned about the access issue was fixed and I could get in with no problems. I'm not sure I've ever been to a business that's updated and fixed an access issue so thoroughly before. The beautiful yarns won over my crafty eyes, but their understanding, compassion and desire to accommodate their customers won over my heart.
