Good Day Cafe

Having worked in Bath for 25 years, admittedly sometime ago now, I thought I knew the City pretty well. My wonderful children bought me this fantastic Food Tour as a birthday present. Wow...... is all I can say. It's a great way to see the City and learn some of the rich history the City has to offer at the same time. Mike, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and tailored the tour wonderfully to suit the audience which ranged in age from 20 months to 61 years.......... The choice of independent food retailers was wide and varied demonstrating the abundance of different food choices available in Bath. You can tell when something is good as the 3 hours passed by in a whizz. However, at no time did we feel rushed moving between our chosen tasting venues. I felt immersed in the activity from start to finish. I would absolutely recommend "Savouring Bath" as a great activity if spending time in the wonderful City of Bath. A truly wonderful experience.

I had the amazing pleasure of going on the Savouring Bath Private tour with Mike as part of my cousins hen do. This was one of my favourite activities we did over that weekend. I am quite the foodie and I love to walk and see different cities and this was certainly a tour that did not disappoint! Right off the bat you could tell Mike was very passionate about Bath and showing people the delights it had to offer. His knowledge of the history of Bath was apparent in all of the local businesses we got to visit and you could tell he had personal friendships with each of the business owners. We asked him quite a few random questions throughout the tour and he answered each one with a smile and his face just lit up when we asked him questions about cheese! My favourite stop was the Bertinet Bakery where we got to share the most amazing cheese and ham filled Croissant but the scotch eggs from Guildhall Deli were also to die for! Mike took us outside the Roman Baths and talked a bit about their history but he did mention when he does his tours he kind of adapts them to suit the needs of the audience, we were really into learning about Bath's history so he explained how it became a City of Culture and what it does to honour that and keep its culture preserved. We went to 8 stops on our tour and got the LARGEST of goodie bags to take back with us! The money you spend on this pretty much all goes on those goodie bags I am sure you got so much to take back with you! If you are ever visiting bath definitely book a food tour with Savouring Bath its the best way to get to experience the city and the local businesses that are there! We had a great tour with Mike, and was the perfect mix of a light hearted and relaxed tour whilst still learning loads about the city and all the places and food/drink we tried. We only grew up 20 minutes from bath yet still found loads of new things out on this tour, definitely recommend!
