Customer experiences
Nice huge gym with awesome equipment, BUT... Only giving it two stars for the following reasons: many of the cardio machines (especially the stairmasters and lateral ellipticals) are in terrible shape and in need of servicing. The stairmasters feel like they're going to break, as they making clicking, clunking and snapping sounds you can feel going through your body. Last time I checked 2/3 of the elateral ellipticals won't adjust for lateral levels. Also, there are no ceiling fans above the cadio equipment, which can be quite brutal at times during high aerobics. Worst of all is the number of steroid junkies. Not a word of a lie. I've never seen this many sharps in a biohazard container IN MY LIFE...worse than the public washrooms in the Byward Market. There's actually a 'roid shoot up universal washroom at this location. It's disgusting. The pics dont lie. I almost forgot to mention: that need to keep the bathrooms cleaner in general. The daily turnover is huge. They need the staff to meet the demands, but they're clearly cutting costs they shouldn't be of their aim is to run a clean operation. It's really too bad because, otherwise, it would potentially be the best GoodLife in town.
Big location, nice that everything is on one level. Facility is clean and usually lots of staff, people also are usually good about putting weights/equipment back and generally keeping it organized. If I had one complaint it’s the lack of duplicates for some of the machines. There’s no reason why this location has only one of the life fitness leg extension machines (the hoist one is probably the worst designed piece of equipment I’ve ever used) or one lateral raise machine when the Merivale location which is half the size has two of each. During peak hours there can be sometimes 3-4 people waiting for these machines specifically.
I've been working out at GoodLife for a while now, and I can honestly say that the personal trainers here are absolutely amazing. From day one, my trainer has been knowledgeable, supportive, and fully committed to helping me reach my goals. They take the time to personalize every session based on my needs, fitness level, and progress. Not only have I seen real results, but I’ve also learned a lot about proper form, nutrition, and how to stay motivated. The energy they bring to every session is unmatched, and it makes a huge difference when someone is genuinely invested in your success. If you’re thinking about getting a personal trainer, I highly recommend the team at GoodLife. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to take your workouts to the next level, they’ve got the expertise and passion to help you get there.
Really solid Goodlife location. I often find gyms have tons of cardio equipment but lack lifting space and equipment, but this is not the case. Good amount of cardio stuff, tons of platforms for a commercial gym, lots of benches, good amount of cable stations. Very clean. Staff mostly good. Gets busy in evenings, but not too bad early in morning or throughout day.
GoodLife Fitness Kanata Hazeldean Mall is a gym.
