Steve TakataGreat China is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in Berkeley. I’ve been coming here for 20 years when it was a tiny restaurant a couple blocks from the current location. The food is tremendous and is always fresh and perfectly prepared. I think the lunch specials are a great deal with big portions. The shrimp dishes are all excellent and so is the fish. And I love the sautéed green beans and the snow pea leaves. There’s a bar with a lot of wines but I’ve never tried anything here.
T TThe last time I went to Great China was when they were in their old location. This new location is spacious and very minimalistic looking. For the food, it is GREAT! For the price it is slightly pricier, but you can taste and see the quality! Everything was on point and so good! I ordered 3 dishes, tea, and rice. The total is a lot, but like I stated before it is the quality you are paying for!
