When we arrived the hall smelled like smoke and mildew. The towels were threadbare. We were told there was a shuttle to the airport. When my husband needed a shuttle to the airport to pick up a rental car, they had to call a Lyft. We were told there would be breakfast available and there was no breakfast. The pool was covered in algae and scum and obviously hadn't been used or maintained. The second night of our stay, the elevators were operating properly and the third night one of elevators was out of order. Our room was not serviced our entire stay and I had to ask as the front desk for more shampoo and conditioner. The hair dryer in my room did not work as all. The hair dryer in my son's room was missing both safety screens. Hair or fingers could easily be seriously injured by the rotating blades. Even my son who usually doesn't notice much about hotels said this was the worst hotel he has ever stayed. The hallway of our wing also was never swept or cleaned during out entire stay.

1st, the building just feels crumby. It needs a really good cleaning. 2nd, The bed was worn out. Not that comfortable of a mattress. 3rd, and the biggest, there appeared to be some major mismanagement going on. I was assigned to room 714, I got to the room, and it hadn't been cleaned from the previous guests. So I got a new room, 711. That was ok, besides the general crumbyness and the mattress. But then I was awoken at about 2:30am to someone trying to get into my room, and they tried for about 10 to 15 minutes. It's just not a stay I'm interested in repeating

The front desk staff of all shifts were nice, tried to resolve issues, and remained pleasant; however the hotel is dated and dirty. The lobby smelled great but the lounge furniture was gray and visibly dirty. The hallway to the elevator had trash on the floor. If housekeeping is not on property all day then front desk staff should do a check on down time and vacuum the common area. I stayed for 3.5 nights the elevator was not swept out, the debris by the exit door remained there the entire time as well. I was not told my room wouldn’t be cleaned while I was there so my trash piled up and I had to reuse the towels everyday. I asked for housekeeping but a woman who was at the desk on Saturday and Sunday was dismissive and always on the phone every time I went to or past the desk. The common areas and within the sleeping rooms should be painted or new wallpaper put up bc it was a lot of visible stains. It gave the appearance that there’s no investment or interest in appearance. The towels and sheets that have stains that cannot be removed need to be discarded. The meeting space, large ballrooom, likely isn’t used often so it’s holding a smell/odor. My nephew got married there this past Saturday July 26 and even after spraying air freshener we just had to deal with the smell. The linens in the event space were stained, and there was no consideration of the expense of the rental nor the revenue generated by the hotel through the room block to be courteous enough for non-wrinkled linens or a fresh vacuumed foyer and ballroom. I loved the space and the chandeliers and can see the potential of the hotel and event space if someone would take the opportunity to maximize potential future gains and hire adequate staff and upgrades to soft goods. I would think an established brand would want return visitors and future business. Word of mouth and recommendations on social media are huge and I really have showed restraint by NOT posting pictures and reviews publicly. Also, they said they had breakfast but it NEVER happened the entire time I was there. The breakfast area/bar also had a smell as if Boone really event is in the space. The tables in that area need to be sanded and stained over or new tables need to be purchased because everyone of them felt sticky even after I wiped them down with water and paper towel.
