Customer experiences
Our latest stay at this place was horrible. There was a swarm of flies in our room. We killed at least 35 when we arrived and still found a few during our short stay. The room was beyond filthy. One corner had dense cobwebs that appeared to have not been cleaned for months. The floors were sticky and had dog food and other crumbs in every corner. The door operated with much difficulty. The grounds were completely overgrown with grass as high as 2 feet. There was no mowed area to walk our dog. This business is next to numerous commercial businesses that were neat and tidy. It looked abandoned. This is a great quiet location that we have enjoyed in the past but will not be using again. The reception lady was very nice. I did not complain because, honestly, it appeared that there was zero effort to maintain the place.
The outside of the hotel was completely unkept, but well lit and the clerk was friendly. However, those are the only positives. Grass was 2 feet tall with no place to walk a dog. Door latch worked with great difficulty and the room was full of flies. We killed 35 and still had a couple during our overnight. Floor was filthy and sticky, cobwebs in corners and surfaces were filthy. Bed had cigarette hole burns in non-smoking room, bed was old and lumpy. The TV didn't work. Absolutely disgusting.
Oh, the Motel 6 in Salina, KS! A true hidden gem for the discerning traveler. Stepping into my room felt like a delightful journey back in time, boasting charming vintage mid-century decor – the kind of classic linoleum flooring and no-nonsense window AC unit that whispers 'authentic Americana.' And the views? Simply stunning views of the Great Plains! While some might call it a highway-adjacent landscape, I found the expansive vistas of the sky and the open road truly inspiring, perfectly framed by the window. The staff were an absolute dream – the check-in process was as smooth as a freshly paved interstate, and the front desk individual had a smile that could brighten even the dustiest Kansas sunset. With ample parking that could easily accommodate a small fleet of combines (or a massive RV, if you prefer), and the glorious convenience of having fast food within walking distance, this establishment truly understands the needs of the weary voyager. For those seeking a pristine, budget-friendly retreat that prioritizes the essentials and offers an unfiltered slice of heartland hospitality, look no further. It's a no-frills paradise that delivers exactly what you need, with a certain unpretentious elegance. An absolute five-star stop on any cross-country adventure!
We are from California we stayed here and right when you drive up it’s a dump. The guy was nice at the front desk but didn’t mention none of the TVs were working and pool was out of service. There were burn holes on the top sheets of the blankets. Flys everywhere in the room, the floor was cracked, smelled like cigarette smoke, people smoking in door way of a non smoking room, strange people just walking around. I will never stay there again.
