If I could give a zero star I would. I lived in one of their duplexes for two years. When my lease was coming up I looked for a new place and found a house that better suited my needs. When it came to Harrell being cooperative with me or the new leasing company, it was awful. They were rude and short and would not help me with any documentation I needed for the new leasing company. Thank goodness the new company accepted screen shots. Now, on to the move out process with Harrell. I followed all move out instructions and requirements to the letter. I also got my carpets professionally cleaned and deep cleaned my unit and appliances over three days. Per my lease, I paid $1000 security deposit, $400 in pet deposits, and $65 for my garage remote… again per the lease, all refundable. I’m not the best at math, but that adds up to $1465.00. Knowing this, why did Harrell say that the deposit amount was $1315.00? That didn’t add up. On top of that, they took $583.43 from the $1315.00 deposit. They cited $354.38 for painting and $91 for cleaning! I have never not gotten my full deposit back and couldn’t believe what they took. They also cited things that were not accurate such as missing bulbs and a smoke alarm battery. All of my bulbs were working and none of my alarms were beeping when I left the unit. I don’t even care about the little stuff though. I just can’t get how they charged me for painting and cleaning. I will never use them for anything ever again. I have pictures of my unit and how I left it. You tell me how any of this makes sense! 0 stars!

I had read the reviews before moving in but I had little choice. This was during the end of 2021 when there were literally no houses or apartments to rent or they were ridiculously priced so we went with a Harrell house. The house was okay upon move in, I can say this though, I fixed more holes on move out than they did for me on move in. Long story short, our stay was okay, the house was mediocre for the price but a/c and heating there was quick response on. They fixed a lot of holes on the exterior of the home and only came back to paint after my wife complained of the exposed caulking for several weeks. It’s clear they don’t care about the property (at least till you move out so they can take your deposit) so be prepared on that note. The other reviews left here are extremely accurate. I followed their move out instructions to a T and left the house in much better condition than it was when I moved into it but they kept $850 of my $1300 deposit for bogus stuff. I have pictures documenting everything from move in to move out so I may inquire but honestly, it’s not even worth dealing with them. I would probably gove negative stars if i could. But these people are really robbers. I read the online reviews before moving in but since i had no choice i went with their property. They rob you in ways you don't think of. After living in their property for almost 4 yrs they will send you a bill for painting of walls. They claim you are rough on walls. They will def charge you twice the amount of your entire property rent. I don't know if tenants are supposed to walk in air without touching walls. They charge you smoke fee in a noon smoking household. When asked they say cooking smell. Cooking smell wont linger for months. So tenants can't cook in the property they rent? Might as well pay them rent and live on streets. Please if you have choice do not go with these people. Not to mention.. our refrigerator and stove broke multiple times spoiling our food. I wish i had taken legal action on them. But i was too naive to let it slide. Bottomline... one day your accounts will bleed from all the money you robbed out of your tenants Dear management

Disappointed with this company to say the least. I rented there for over two years, paid my rent in a timely manner, and never caused any issues. Over two years later I am being notified that I have around $800 in collections for a month that I never even resided there! I never received a phone call, an email, a letter advising that I owed them any money, if so I'm sure we could've resolved the matter quickly because I wasn't on the lease for the month rent was missed! If you're looking to rent from Harrell, please look elsewhere, unless you want to get slapped with fees that aren't yours.
