I worked with Karla before and after my pregnancies, and I would 100% recommend. Karla was able to not only curate a postpartum workout based on my fitness level, but also accounted for my troublesome ACL based on her wealth of sports rehab knowledge. I think the small group postpartum workout classes are the best in the city (and covered by benefits as a bonus!). In addition, her push prep session really prepared my partner and I for a smooth and non-medicated labour and delivery. Cannot thank Karla enough!!
I cannot recommend Karla enough. In my opinion her approach to physical therapy for women is unmatched in the city. Her knowledge and experience is obvious and her treatment is effective, engaging and very intentional. She understands the busy and all-in nature of being a mom and gears her programs to whats realistic. And I LOVE that she has a functional, sport focus. You feel yourself exercising while also rehabbing - It's the best of both world. 20/10 for HerSport... It the best PT treatment I've ever recieved.
I heard about Karla and her postpartum exercise classes from a friend, and I am so grateful that I signed up because it helped me regain my strength in a controlled and intentional way after having my first child. I was apprehensive about returning to exercise after pregnancy but the way that Karla structures the class really built my confidence to move and work my muscles again - confidence that I know I wouldn’t have had if I was trying to return to exercise on my own. Karla is so knowledgeable and alters the exercises for each individual woman based on her postpartum needs which is amazing. She watches your movements, asks about any pain or discomfort you may be having throughout the class, and ensures you do not hurt yourself. I am extremely grateful that Karla has this program to offer to Mom’s trying to get back into exercise and sports. I would HIGHLY recommend to anyone, no matter what your level of sport/exercise is postpartum- you do not need to be an athlete to come to Karla’s classes, just a Mom looking to get her body moving again!
I’ve had an amazing experience at HerSport Physio. Both the individual PT sessions and the postpartum fitness classes helped my recovery so much. Karla is an incredible PT who listens closely to your concerns and gives lots of helpful options. She is consistently warm, kind and understanding. I’ve had some negative experiences with health professionals in the past, so now I am so careful about finding providers who actually listen, take your concerns seriously and work with you in a compassionate way. Karla goes above and beyond in providing excellent care to her PT clients. I have recommended the clinic to friends and family, too.
