Customer experiences
I went to this ER for severe gastritis and walked out traumatized. The staff were inattentive, chaotic, and unprofessional. I never once spoke to a doctor during my visit — not once — yet my nurse (more so an evil witch in her retirement era) Cathy, lied to my mother and said I had seen a doctor twice. That was completely untrue. The emergency room was filthy and felt deserted of any real medical oversight. There was no sense of urgency for a person in pain. I was never hooked up to a vital-sign monitor, despite asking, and nobody checked basic vitals. Instead, I was given an injection of a medication that Cathy refused to name. When I repeatedly asked what it was, she shrugged and said, “It’s just a shot.” That’s unacceptable and frightening — patients have a right to know what’s being put into their bodies. The whole place operates like a revolving door of neglect : confused staff, no accountability, and a total disregard for patient safety. This was not care — it was neglect. I left feeling worse and violated. If you value your health and safety, DO NOT come here. SAVE YOURSELF . I strongly urge anyone who’s had a similar experience to do the same. I’m filing formal complaints with hospital administration and the local health department. I strongly urge anyone who can relate to this experience to do the same.
Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago would have let my granddaughter die. She went there 2 days in a row with severe cramping and bleeding. She was told her pregnancy was fine and that she was getting older and she would be fine after her 1st trimester. She went to someone else and was told it was a good thing she came in because the pregnancy was in serious trouble and her placenta was infected. Had she not went somewhere else she would have died. I would not recommend this Hospital. Shame on you. You call yourselves Holy? A Hospital built on God's love for people. What a joke.
Nurse Jackie was amazing always kind always efficient. Monica in the lab always does an amazing job with my baby with calming her and making her feel comfortable while getting shots. The visit was quick didn’t have to wait a long time it was a great experience. Great staff
I wish I had the name of the ONE nurse who treated me like an actual person so I could publicly say she was the only nice person I spoke to. I went into the ER due to dehydration caused from drinking at a festival. I was given a IV and my friends waited for me in the waiting room. The doctors were given consent to share my information with my friends. Unfortunately they did not tell my friends I was awake and talking and asking to leave. The doctors refused to let me call my mom, I couldn’t have my phone, glasses, or clothing. I was also not allowed to have a person with me while I was being treated. I was sitting in a bed with just a see through bra on and like 5 blankets. I never once made a threat to anyone or myself and my friends also asked if I had due to the way I was being treated like a suicidal patient. We live in a completely different state, and had told the doctors that if I wanted to leave the then I need to be discharged or else I’ll be left alone in the state. About 10 minutes after my friends left, they released me. I believe I was treated this way due to them wanting to hold me for longer for more money, along with the fact that I came from a festival and was wearing skimpy clothing. If you have the option, choose another hospital.
Holy Cross Hospital is a general hospital.
