I would highly recommend Horizon Family Dentistry. It starts with the women that manage and operate the office area, they are exceptional. Their kindness and professionalism says it all. The Nurse on Staff was kind and supportive, she answered any questions that I had and made me feel comfortable with the procedure that I was going to have. The dental surgeon was amazing. I had some concerns from a past experience and as we talked and she explained why certain things could have happened I felt comfortable to follow through with the procedure. Everything went as she expected and ended in success. Again, the dentist that saw me for aftercare was professional and thorough. All around, it was a great experience! Never thought I would say that about going to see a dentist!!

Horizon Dental has a wonderful team. They are easy to talk to, get in you in quickly, and do a thorough Job. Dr. Young-Jin might look young but he knows his stuff. You will not be sorry if you chose this dental office.

Watch your bill even if covered by insurance. I was over charged. I asked to see the bill to review the charges based on the services received and questioned the amount. The receptionist spoke with the hygenist and with no explanation or apology reduced my bill by 1/3. She just told me the new amount. This is not the first time I have been charged for services I did not receive. The last time I didn't review my bill until I got home. I called the office and while they immediately took the charge off my bill, they were only willing to give me a credit to be used at a later appointment vs giving me my money back. One time it's an error. Twice is a trend. Yesterday horizon called to discuss my review. History of events at end of appointment: conversation with the hygenist re tooth implants. I had just completed the first stage and was quite happy with Dr Wong(Toronto Dr who attends ptbo office mthly) I explained stages 2 and 3 and recommended the procedure whole heartedly. I gathered my stuff and headed to reception. The patient in front of me was having billing issues. Hers was insurance related. Her provider/policy had changed and all info had to be updated to submit her claim. I then review my bill, question and get it corrected, discuss my upcoming appointment, speak with the surgical assistant who explained the xray process, changed the date and time of the next appointment, new invoice printed and the bill settled via credit card. The caller from horizon explained she had spoken with the office and that "I was in the chair for 40 minutes" and the hygienist was within her rights to charge what she did. When the hygienist was asked why she reduced the price, she said it was a courtesy. An apology was issued for not communicating this to me. In regards to the previous overcharge, it was explained that sometimes the girls get busy and codes from previous appointments are not deleted or the wrong code is entered into the system causing errors. While they (for whatever reason) are not able to refund payments, cheques are returned to patients "all the time" Again an apology was issued as I was not given this option. Based on this information would I change my rating. While no ill intent meant, the admission of human error and being so busy resulting in mistakes tells me I need to check my bill. I did question my 40 minutes in the chair comment. After getting the correct instruments, it took from start to finish 20 min to clean my teeth. I patted myself on the back for my good oral hygiene. A light polishing was then done. I was "in the chair" 30 minutes max. In order to get off the phone I agreed that I would think about it and we could further discuss. My appointment was for 2pm. I have reviewed my credit card slip and it is time stamped 2:45. If I was 40 minutes in the chair then everything described above starting with my conversation about teeth implants happened in 5 minutes? Impossible An error was made. Own it and try to do better. In the meantime I will check my bills.
