Had a private family dinner to celebrate my sister's birthday, and stayed overnight. The hotel is well situated just off the M6 and easy to find. Our dinner was tasty and the portions are generous. The service was exceptional and we felt very well looked after. Our room was reasonably large if a little "tired". Bathroom was good and had quality toiletries provided. A very good stay.

This is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel, we have stayed before and it was not brilliant but this time it was very poor. The standard of cleaning in the bathroom was appalling (see photos) thick mould on side of shower screen and shower hose, paint flaking off from ceiling, toilet was so close to the wall of the bathroom I couldn't sit straight on it(and I don't have particularly wide shoulders). Also, there was no heating in the corridor to our room, the room was warm but it was a cold walk to it.|My wife noticed the electrical safety sticker on the hair dryer was 10 months out of date so I checked other electrical items in the room. Some items had no test stickers but one had been tested in April 2024, when the hairdryer was due for retest. I know stickers aren't a legal requirement but having a policy and following it is, it appears to me that this hotel isn't following the group safety policy.|On the positive side, the beds were comfortable and the food was good, up to the normal Macdonald Hotel standards.

Nov 24 Booked last minute for £59 when others around 1 mile were £100+. Great on price Room - dated, small, too cozy but bed was good and comfy Toilet- was too small.. shower was in a tub, too restrictive. No extras like tooth paste or tooth brush. View was stunning (check out photo) Restaurant staff were good. Breakfast was good Parking - limited free.. Convenience - next to a small service station.
