Customer experiences
This is a decent place to get some sit down, american food. This bar/ restaurant is connected to the Holiday Inn that sits parallel with Kansas State University. This first time trying it here, years ago, wasn't the best first impression. I had their fettuccine alfredo and the noodles itself were a little tough and with the calamari I felt like there was a lot going on for a simplistic dish. Or maybe I just didn't enjoy the peppers. Recently, I've given it another go when I stayed at the hotel every so often. Not every dish was a winner, but I had my favorites. My favorite would have to be the Lemony Chicken Piccata and their butter Cake. The noodles that came with were better and the chicken was cooked perfectly, all the right seasonings. And the dessert featuring the butter cake, delicious, warm and topped with vanilla ice cream. I liked the caesar salad as well and with the polenta, ups the game. The only real problem I had this go around was I ordered the chicken caesar salad to-go online, they forgot the chicken. I mean it's in the name, haha. The parking is a decent size, it is shared with the hotel so you shouldn't have a problem and the interior is clean and decent location size as well.
I ordered a Southwest burger here, very fresh meat and veggies! The bartender Cameron was AWESOME! Was able to handle the full bar and the drinks within the restaurant without stressing out alone behind the bar. The restaurant is connected to a hotel but doesn't have the hotel feel to it. The prices are reasonable. The restaurant looks fancy and has an outdoor patio too.
I enjoyed going here on Oct 1st the food was enjoyable and people were smart and the service was great.
Was out looking for some Fish and Chips and swung by Houlihan's. Did not disappoint with the Fish and Chips. The fish was cooked perfect with a nice crispy breading that was not soggy on the bottom. The Cole slaw was ok with the vinegarette tang. Then we come to the fries, I love fries and these were nice and crispy potatoes by far my favorite thing from my plate. The Asian Chicken Wrap looked amazing and smelled even better when it got to our table. Word is it was delicious and I concur as it was gone before my food was so that's a win. Paired both of these with a Boulevard 7 beer, IPA style beer that was a great flavourful IPA that did not kick your teeth in with Hops, and a Boulevard Wheat, extremely delicious citrus wheat beer that made the whole Fish and Chips hit all the spots. Lasty our server Erica, she was a gem. Super patient, helped out with some ADHD decision making, and attentive to all the tables in her area. Kitchen staff on point with getting food out and cooked to perfection. All in all a great little spot tucked across from the University and co-located with Holiday Inn. I'd say make a great spot for a rest in your driving through Manhattan, KS on the way somewhere.
