Customer experiences
Please take the extra few minutes if at all possible and visit a different hospital. We went to the emergency room this past weekend for my daughter and in almost four hours of waiting we had about 2 minutes of interaction with the nurses and provider, who were dismissive and unhelpful. The male nurse we had was also rude and condescending. I could hear him talking about us and other patients at the nurses station, where all of the staff were gathered around passing the time with no rush to assist anyone. Emergency room visits are expensive, and we needed help. We left disappointed, frustrated, and my PCP questioned the course of action recommended by their ER staff when I brough my daughter into their office the next morning.
HSHS St. Francis Hospital offers compassionate, high-quality care with experienced medical staff, advanced technology, and a strong focus on patient comfort and community wellness.
Charge nurses in ER are rude and are always talking about people as if we can't hear them through the thin windows. The Doctors act like you are wasting their time.. Don't go there.
Think twice before having surgery or a baby here! They knowingly gave medication that I'm SEVERELY ALLERGIC which is noted in my charts. WE HAD 3 CONVERSATIONS CLARIFYING THE ALLERGY! I had on a bracelet that started my allergy. The anesthesiologist insisted that he used it for c section patients because of nausea, which I didn't have an issue with. I stated I'd rather be nauseous than unable to breathe, but I don't get nauseous from surgery (this was my 4th one). He acted as if we were on the same page, that he understood I was refusing Zofran. It made breathing difficult, but they consider it to be fine because after trying to convince me it was just pressure from the c section for 8 minutes, they finally gave epinephrine. They continued to lie and I found out about it on my own. They did nothing to hold anesthesiologist Alexander accountable. I left the night after a c section because they wouldn't let my support person stay, and I didn't trust them to "care" for me while I was alone. I talked with the hospital staff when it happened. I explained it in the survey asking about my experience. There was nothing done to help. The hospital has my contact information.
HSHS St. Francis Hospital is a hospital.
