If I could give negative I would. By far the WORST experience I have ever had in any hospital. My grandma went in a little over a week ago due to a fall. She was then bed bound had a bed alarm and a camera monitoring her. She could barely hold a tissue to wipe her nose but somehow “fell gracefully out of bed.” A day after the fall, she’s unresponsive, couldn’t speak or swallow. While visiting a few days after her arrival, she was screaming to go to the bathroom. She needed a bed pan. Called nurses and no one came in 10-15 minutes due to shift change. Myself and my sister put her on the bed pan(my sister has cna training) no one still came for another 30 minutes when we went to take the bed pan off, except to yell at her to stay in bed when her bed alarm was going off. Doctors couldn’t figure out why she was hallucinating when there were no prior issues or symptoms, it was after they started her on a medication. Briefly took her off the medication, hallucinations subsided, put her back on them and the hallucinations started again. I wish I could explain the rest but this is long enough. My grandma passed today, and knowing she was terribly taken care of the whole week she was there is what really breaks my heart. Train your nurses and doctors better. Hold them to a higher standard. This review is not in chronological order. Disgusting. Better off at memorial down the street.

This summer my mom had a medical emergency and was air lifted to St. John’s. The ambulance company said we didn’t get a choice in which hospital she went to. The ER doctor was Jessica K Meyers. She literally laughed at her change in mental state and how she could not understand what she was saying because her speech was so slurred and she couldn’t speak coherently. Laughing, she told my mom “I don’t know what you’re saying! You have to speak clearly!” I had to interpret for my mom because she was so out of it and told the doctor multiple times that something was very wrong and she is never like this. The only tests she ran were the ones that I requested to have done, to which she said “Oh, that’s a good idea!” She didn’t offer to run any tests and sent her home. It wasn’t until later that I realized she likely had had a stroke and I should have requested a CT scan. But I’m not a doctor, so in the moment, I only requested tests to check for blood clots that could have been related to the recent surgery she had had. The doctor though didn’t even suggest those tests, I did. Dr. Meyers was a terrible excuse for a doctor and had terrible bedside manner. She acted as if we had no business being there and that we were only wasting her time. They deserve the reputation they have earned and I will be sure to make sure our experience is known to help prevent other families from being belittled and put in a potentially more dangerous situation from lack of care.

Went in at midnight August 24th/August 25th, When we checked in the nurse didn't take my husbands insurance card. So we thought okay someone from billing will come back to our room and take it nope no one did. We came in for chest pain for my husband and once we got back to a room we were then sent to a different room...like okay I get it not enough beds and to many people coming in but come on. Now we are receiving 3 bills from 3 different places and none of the total match up at all!!! Before we even got to a room we had to wait a long time and we told the nurse he was having chest pain. Idk what happened to the St. Johns ER sense I moved but this hospital has gone down hill sadly. We've had to call 3 different places just to get one answer and figure out what in gods name is going on. To us its sounds like St. Johns doesn't know or is having problems with their billing department because this is ridiculous and embarrassing on their end. If I could give this place 0 stars I would of. Should of went to Memorial hospital might of been better and more organized than St.Johns... St.Johns you need to get yourself together and on top of everything.

My mother had an abdominal aortic aneurysm rupture and had to have emergency surgery here. Dr Healy did An amazing job and the staff has been nothing but nice to me and my family. I couldn’t recommend this place more! They are clean and keep the rooms in tip top shape they also keep their waiting rooms clean as well:)! Every single person we have interacted with here has been kind to us I will never go anywhere else!!
