Great ambiance, Jessie Murcury led an amazing session, great location and the heating of the class was even and strong! Warning the lockers are a bit small, you can lock your valuables easily though, not really a deal breaker at all, just good to know.
While I've had positive experiences at other Idolem studios, my recent visit to the Longueuil location left me greatly disappointed. I came to the studio wanting to buy the yoga mat they usually rent out to everyone missing a mat. However, based on the staff's recommendation, I purchased the bfit non-slip as they highly recommended it. Unfortunately, it didn't suit my needs as a beginner at all. I had difficulty during my class as the non-slip grip on the mat was actually painful to the point that I couldn’t do the movements especially on my hands. So right after class (about an hour after purchase) I went and when I tried to get an exchange for the original mat I wanted, I was told it wasn't possible due to hygiene reasons. They also would not refund me. The owner "Genevieve Lucas" told me it was because she wouldn’t be able to resell it. I believe there’s a lot of room in improvement for their customer service. Being new in yoga, I’m still learning…and I think the yogi (Marc Tremblay) and the sales associate (Genevieve Labrie) who upsold me on the yoga mat should have been more transparent on their product and they also never mentionned their store policies on exchanges and reimbursement. When I came with my issue, they suggested I spend more and buy their towel to put on the mat. The bfit is already 100$. I sincerely feel like they purposely wanted to make a bigger sale. I hope Idolem can consider these aspects to enhance the overall customer experience. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning to Idolem Longueuil.
I moved to Longueil about 5 years ago and needed to find a studio near by. I absolutely fell in love with this studio. It’s steps away from my home and the metro for those who may have to commute. All of the teachers are so kind, personable, have varying styles and make every yogi comfortable no matter where you are in your level of practice. The owner is equally friendly and always there to greet you with a smile! I was so sad that it closed during the pandemic but I am over the moon that it’s opened up again. This is a great studio, it feels like a club, like a home and all together is a great place to practice in.
