Due to the worst experience in terms of both claims processing and customer service, I strongly do not recommend Intact for auto insurance. In my case, the accident occurred on December 12, 2024, and my vehicle was taken to the Intact Service Center on December 16. However, as of today, March 19, 2025, I still have not received my car back, and they are unable to provide a clear completion date for the repairs. It has been three months! Additionally, since this was considered as a fault claim case, they asked me to return my rental car by February 1. As a result, I have been relying on CTrain and buses for over a month and a half. Due to the excessive delay in repairs, I started requesting a rental car extension from the Intact adjuster on March 5. However, he rarely respond, and when he does, he simply say that an extension is not possible. He has been neither expediting the repair process nor providing any rental car support. This company clearly does not care about customer satisfaction. Since March 14, I have been emailing them almost daily, asking when my car will be ready. Yet, as of March 19, 5:00 PM, I have received no response.

This company is a joke! Do not trust them. Their app doesn't work, their website doesn't work and apparently neither do they. They threatened to send me to collections when I have automatic payments set up, with no previous phone call at all. I'm 90% sure they scammed me for about $200. I called multiple times to try to deal with the situation and when my insurance broker contacted their underwriter, the underwriter lied to them and said the person I spoke to didn't work for them. DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE! Your "please call" bulls***, is also a lie. We danced that dance and, as noted above, the person I spoke with apparently didn't work for you.

I regret not checking Intact Insurance’s reviews until now, otherwise I wouldn’t switch my insurance to them. They deserve these bad reviews. My experience with the adjuster was fully approved what you guys’ said here. When you get problems and call Intact, please be careful about their questions: full of traps. They are not trying to solve problems fairly. They tried to find if you did anything wrong, so they don’t have to cover the loss. Yes, Intact is cheaper, but good luck with the current customers under their services.

Made the whole claim process feel like an inquisition. I have been waiting 6 months for the preferred body shop to commit to an appointment (they have made and cancelled 4) then when I realized I had my original shop of choice call and confirm my appointment I made with them at same time I took it. However, intact said they never authorized any shop to do work. I have 7 mails from my shop of choice with an authorized PO issued to them back in August. So obviously they are mis informed regarding this. Needless they went on to call the shop and cancel the authorization after my vehicle went in shop and I was given a rental. So now here we are in limbo and I am without my vehicle and any authorization to carry on with repair. Body shop said I would have to make another appointment and it will be in September! When I called and asked to speak to a claims adjuster I got no response and have been waiting to deal with this for three days. Every time my broker or I attempt to get ahold of this person they get no answer. I asked to speak to a claims manager and no one had bothered to return my call. I would strongly advise anyone considering this as a primary insurer to take this as a warning they seem to take your monthly payment without issue but when the lowly customer comes asking for some help you get nothing but ignored and the worst customer experience. In response to intact asking me to take this off line, how about a managers phone contact that actually will answer a call instead of just filling up voice mails and ignoring the issue?
