In 2021 we moved to a rural village, to a cottage built 140 years ago. We had a vague plan to modernise the rear of the house to make better use of space and light, while removing an old conservatory with potential for a kitchen extension - while wishing to retain the original "cottage look". Rachael was immediately enthusiastic about our project. She undertook an early site visit, and soon started to make suggestions, offering us fresh ideas. This was challenging for us because our "vague plan" now needed to be firmed up. Rachael was excellent through this process, helping us to see what was possible. In short, she made us think! She then drew up some excellent plans that really made sense to us. We have found Rachael to be easy to communicate with, and responds to our queries in timely fashion. We also like her clear price structure, and while she has a network of Surveyors and Engineers to offer, she does not push for us to use "her" people for any particular service. We can certainly recommend Rachael Smith and the Light House Studio.
