I recently placed a £1,000 deposit on a car at JRR Cars but had to withdraw due to unforeseen personal reasons. Since I hadn’t signed any formal agreement or paperwork, I expected a straightforward refund process. Unfortunately, when I contacted JRR Cars, I was initially told that my deposit was non-refundable. I was genuinely shocked, as I believed I was entitled to a refund, given that I hadn’t signed anything. After expressing my distress and practically pleading for my money back, the manager finally offered to “do me a deal” and refund only half, meaning I’d lose £500 for a car I never even took possession of. This felt extremely unfair, especially as I had placed the deposit just two days earlier and there was no evidence of any work or preparation done on the vehicle—no MOT or additional servicing. At this point, I was completely distraught. Feeling unsupported, I called my partner, who then spoke to the manager directly. After a brief conversation, the manager eventually agreed to refund the full amount. While I appreciate that the situation was eventually resolved, I can’t help but feel that my initial concerns weren’t taken seriously, perhaps due to my age or the fact that I’m a young woman. This experience left me feeling undervalued and disappointed by JRR Cars' customer service approach.

Outstanding from start to finish. I had been searching for a specific specification Toyota Yaris for a family member for a few weeks. I won’t lie, I noticed this one from JRR Cars and dismissed it as I thought it’s a longer distance to travel (Glasgow > Chorley) and then there is no guarantee of the car being as described (previous bad experiences during buying cars). When I couldn’t find the specific spec Yaris closer to home I thought I’d make the call to JRR Cars. Anthony answered the call and immediately put me at ease. Polite, professional and relaxed. No pushy sales, answered all my questions and worries with ease. I left a deposit to secure the car and Anthony then explained that the car will now go for a full service, valet and would have a fresh MOT on the car if it had 6 months or less MOT on it (it didn’t it had 9 months MOT on it already so I wasn’t expecting a new MOT) and stated that if anything came up on the mechanical check over or there were any previous advisories on the last MOT they would be rectified. The previous MOT, which as I mentioned had just over 9 months left on it, highlighted the rear pads as an advisory. I was expecting that they would be replaced and I would be delighted with that. Anthony phoned me a day later to say he sent the car off to have a fresh MOT, despite not requiring to as it had 9 months MOT still on the car, and they noted the discs were an advisory so he had them replace discs and pads all round on the car. I was blown away by this level of detail! So many garages would have just done the bare minimum to get the sale done. I explained my shock and delight to Anthony on the phone and in person when I met him and he explained this is how JRR Cars do things and that they want the product they are selling to be as good as it can be so that the customer is delighted, and I most certainly was! Anthony knew I was travelling a fair distance from Glasgow and really kindly picked me up from a nearby enterprise (thanks again for that) in a lovely prestige car and got me back to JRR Cars. The showroom and surrounding area is a really nice environment, clean/ tidy and looks very high end. They have a wide variety of cars available and they all looked to have been prepared to a very high standard. Anthony allowed as much time as I wanted to check the car over and test drive it, making sure I was happy with it before purchasing. The car was perfect and their advert and picture quality was completely as described, if not better in person, which is key for someone buying a car online. The car was valeted to a very high standard. I was invited in to the office and offered refreshments while we sorted all the paperwork. Anthony made this a breeze, nothing was too much effort for him, professional and polite throughout. I was presented with an original Toyota full service history book with the stamp for the service they had carried out on it post deposit as well as the invoice for what they carried out on the car and the 93 point pre handover vehicle checklist. He talked me through the warranty with the car and e-mailed me all the details regarding this and explained to me that despite the distance, if there were any problems that fall in to the warranty these can be sorted at a garage near me. I had a considerate amount of fuel left in the car (around 50miles) which was nice and I set off home. The car drove the 180 miles home effortlessly and my sister is absolutely delighted with it. I would like to thank Anthony again for making the whole process easy and effortless throughout. It can be a daunting process travelling a distance to buy a car. The level of detail they go to is absolutely exceptional. They went over and above to make sure everything about the car was perfect before I travelled. Having purchased cars in the past from both large and smaller independent dealerships I can safely say that this was the best experience I have had. I would highly recommend them.
