there is one amazing things about this hotel - Location - it really is in a great position. Other than that I felt it was very average for the price point. the rooms were really small and dated (dirty streaks on walls, etc...) not a deal breaker for me but it was billed as something more and didn't deliver. Please note that you need to pay a 10 RM tax of some sort that I assumed was included in my online booking, I found the explanation of it not being included a bit nebulous as the online booking site said all fees and taxes included except the 3 RM tourist tax. I would not recommend nor dissuade anyone from staying at this place, just note that the rooms are super tiny and dated as is the whole place.. it looks shiny on the outside but it really isn't.
I would give more than 5 stars to this hotel. Firstly, I booked this hotel because there is NO bad review related to cockroach (giant or small), bed bugs, mold. Secondly, I was attracted by the price which were lower than many similar hotels (even compared to those with concerning reviews). So there you go, I went to the hotel and it turns out to be true. The service was good, the check in and check out was smooth, the room has NO smoking smell, the bathroom was fair, the lift was working well, the location was nice. No complain at all. As for the slightly "negative" aspects were the room was quite small, the hotel has no facilities. Nonetheless, with this sort of price you cannot expect too much! One more excellent thing, there is cheap coin laundry chain located beside the hotel. It is extremely convenient if you have to wash your clothes during your stay in Penang. The price was just RM 4 for washing and RM 4 for drying.
Great hotel with a great location (strategic)! Nearby to the local food places, some of the places are famous near it. The room was clean when I arrived, forgot to take a pic. The hotel staff are friendly and easy to check in and check out. There's a deposit of about RM50, prefer cash. Also, if you are a tourist from a foreign country there will be an added tax regarding the regulations. The tax is around RM30. The reception is wide and has a lot of seating. Water dispensers and ironing tables are available on every floor. Unfortunately, my room didn't have a refrigerator or maybe it depends on the room type. Access inside the hotel is easy too, it has a lot of rooms. Highly recommended to book this hotel for tourists! 😉
