Legacy Silverton Medical Center

My nurses in the ICU and ED were AMAZING, I also felt very confident in the initial care I received from Dr. Boher Clancy and Dr. Haugen. But overall it was a horrible experience because of Dr. Ozaki. The first time Dr. Ozaki came into my room in the ICU she told me the plan, an ultrasound, then immediately went and told my nurse she was ordering another CT scan with contrast. She didn't read my chart to see that half of the things she was ordering were already done by the previous attending physicians. The next time I saw her I had been moved to med surg. I asked when I was going to go home and she told me that I was going home that evening or the next morning. When I asked my nurse what the plan was later that day and if I was going home today or tomorrow, she was confused and told me after Dr. Ozaki left my room she told her that she was planning on discharging me either the next day or the morning after. One time changing your mind is a mistake, twice is a pattern. Med surg is also a terrible place to be. They never shut any of the patients doors. I had to get up and shut my own door so I didnt have to listen to the man down the hall puking his guts out every 20 minutes, (I heard all of his medical problems/history through my open door I could include a lot more if this wasnt posted to Google), or the woman screaming in pain down the hallway. Don't go to Legacy Silverton Medical Center unless you want to be treated like a burden and a paycheck.

Every single nurse was responsive and treated me like family. My surgeon, Dr. Havel, explained everything to me in great detail and emanated warmth and compassion. The same was true for the gynecologist I was treated by, Dr. Nguyen. I was seriously amazed at how much time these busy people were willing to graciously spend answering my questions and just being so kind and warm. I am so grateful that this where I ended up, couldn’t imagine getting better care!

We've never had a bad experience here. Everyone who has helped us in every department has been very nice and helpful. Even in the cafeteria the staff are helpful and friendly. (The guy running the register and taking orders today was especially friendly) And while there's not much I can eat there with my food issues, my husband says the food is really good and he enjoys it. Chose to get something there instead of leaving today. "I need to get sick more often" (so he can get food there lol) And free drip coffee is a nice touch.
