Visited this cafe on a whim for a quick bite to eat on a work trip. It was the best tasting food I have had in all of New Mexico. Hands. Down. The service was phenomenal. The sweet woman who took my order was very sweet and helped us decide what was best. She also gave us toppings on the side we were hesitant about. We ordered the “Crunchy Cajun Chicken Sandwich”. It looked fantastic and tasted phenomenal. The sandwich was warm and tasted fresh. The lemon aioli was fantastic and made the sandwich top tier. The sweet cashier even hooked us up with some delicious cake! WILL BE VISITING AGAIN.

First time visiting Flying Star Cafe, and it was quite an experience! When I walked in, there was no one to welcome me, so don't worry if you feel a bit lost at first. Just head straight to the counter, where you'll find a tempting display of delicious-looking desserts, and place your order from the menu. You pay right there, and then the next challenge begins: finding a seat. Yes, you have to find your own spot, but no worries—there’s plenty of seating, including outside, which is a nice option. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, but I like to stick with something familiar when trying a new place. I chose the grilled fish tacos, and they did not disappoint! The fish was incredibly tender, and the garnish had this perfect blend of sweet and salty that was absolutely delicious. As a Mexican, I usually need salsa with my tacos, and I was a bit worried when none came out. However, the tacos had a creamy chipotle sauce that was so flavorful, it more than made up for it. The plate came with three tacos, each with a double tortilla—super satisfying and filling. Overall, Flying Star Cafe is a relaxed spot with good food and a unique ordering system. The grilled fish tacos alone are worth the visit!

Flying Star Café is a beloved local chain in Albuquerque, offering a diverse menu that caters to various tastes. Known for its casual yet trendy atmosphere, it’s a popular spot for breakfast, brunch, and casual dining throughout the day. 🍳 Food & Drink The menu boasts a variety of options, from hearty breakfast dishes like the Two Birds & a Biscuit and Fabulous French Toast, to lunch favorites such as the Californian Melt and Athena Salad. Dessert lovers will appreciate the selection of cakes and pies, including the Rio Grande Mud Pie and Strawberry Rhubarb Pie. Beverage offerings include quality coffee drinks and teas, with the London Fog being a standout. 🪑 Atmosphere Flying Star Café locations are known for their inviting interiors, featuring ample seating and a relaxed vibe. Many patrons enjoy the outdoor seating options, which are pet-friendly. However, some customers have noted that the music can be quite loud, making conversation difficult at times. 🧾 Service & Pricing Service is generally efficient, with a counter-ordering system followed by table delivery. While the staff is often praised for their friendliness, some patrons have experienced inconsistencies in service quality. Pricing is on the higher side for casual dining, which may not align with everyone’s expectations. 🚗 Accessibility Parking availability varies by location. Some sites, like the one on Central Ave NE, have limited parking, which can be challenging during peak hours. Additionally, there have been mentions of insufficient handicapped parking spots at certain locations. ⭐ Overall Flying Star Café offers a comfortable dining experience with a wide-ranging menu that appeals to many. While there are areas for improvement, particularly in service consistency and pricing, it remains a popular choice for both locals and visitors seeking a casual meal in Albuquerque.

Loved everything except their eggs Benedict. BUT I didn’t get it. I guess I should have looked at the menu before I went there. I love a good classic eggs Benedict but they do theirs differ ent smothering it with their queso. So I got the avocado toast which was pretty yummy! I was expecting just avocado mashed on toast but it was avocado slices on top of a thick piece of toast, 2 poached eggs on top, with parm shavings. It was delicious and have not seen that anywhere else and I eat out a lot. I also love that you don’t just sit down and wait for a waitress, etc. You order first at the counter then they give you a number and deliver when ready. So much quicker! Also got a lemon shortbread cookie. I didn’t taste lemon but it was still so good! Got a peach tea and that was also pretty good
