I came across this broker on a carrier forum after a post about a very reputable company I’ve worked with for years. I reviewed the documents and messages, and it’s clear they altered the pickup address and tried to move the loading out onto a public street instead of the proper location on the rate confirmation. When the carrier refused to do an unsafe and illegal street loading, they immediately threatened a FreightGuard report and tried to use it as leverage unless the carrier either took the illegal job or paid them off. I’m posting this in solidarity with other carriers because this is exactly how small brokers intimidate companies who are just trying to stay compliant and do things the right way. Be careful and double-check everything before accepting a load from them.
