Completely let down by this garage & treated terribly Where to begin, I visited this garage on the 03/02/26 to resolve a "check injection system" warning light on a renault captur 1.5DCi (2016), and a few visits & weeks later they're still no closer to resolving my problem and have left my car in an even worse state. My problems with them all began on the first visit. A week before my appointment with them, i arranged a visit for the 03/02/26 to resolve the above issue as well as replace front worn breaks and tyres. I agreed to get premium all season tyres fitted on the front. On the day of my first visit they made me aware they couldn't fit the tyres because they still needed to order them, so i had to get arranged a 2nd appointment on the 06/02/26. On top of this they attempted the first fix for the "check injection system" warning light by replacing glow plugs, just for the warning light to come back the next day. I don't understand how you can arrange an appointment a week in advance to replace tyres, and still not have them ordered in time for the appointment. Then comes my 2nd appointment on the 06/02/26, i complained about the warning light coming back and they agreed to look into it again as well as replace the tyres. This time they said it was a DPF issue and applied an additive to clear it out. After i came to collect my car and paid, i noticed they fitted tyres i wasn't expecting (budget nankang tyres) and not the tyres i requested before my first visit. Along with this the same warning light came back the next week as well as the EML. I called them up again, and they couldn't get my car in their garage for another 2 weeks on 23/02/26, which is completely disrespectful considering the amount of grief they've already caused me. Just to add to the tyres situation as well, after i inspected my new "premium" tyres, they weren't even inflated properly. My car is rated for 33psi on the front & 30psi at the rear. I measured that they inflated them to 30psi at the front and 36psi at the rear, i mean its not hard for me to correct the pressure, but in my opinion it just shows a lack of care in fitting them. Then comes my third visit with them on the 23/02/26, they took it in and said it was a DPF pressure sensor issue, they said they don't have the parts and would have to contact renault to order them. They demonstrated where the issue was in the engine bay, and to my knowledge they were pointing at a completely different area of the engine to where the DPF pressure sensor is housed, so it gave me no confidence that they actually understand what they're doing and what the problem was. They agreed to call me today (24/02/26) to follow up on the quote for the parts and when they could repair it, but guess what no one bothered to contact me. They said that i should chase them up after 25/02/26 if they didn't call, but seriously, do you think it''s fair that i should have to do that? To top it all of, during my third visit i was treated by staff like they hadn't seen me before and i haven't been having problems with my car the last few weeks. I was even spoken to in a patronising way about how i had the cheapest bill on the day—despite paying hundreds for work that hasn’t fixed anything. So i've been completely left in the dark by them, and a car that's in a worse state now compared to what it was when i originally took it to them, as well as being £1k poorer. Everyone who works here is lovely and helpful. They picked up my non-running car from home and took it to their garage to work on it over time and, throughout the journey of getting the car back on the road, they were very informative and gave all the advice they could. The car was off the road for 12+ years and they had to work through a previous garage's mistakes and modify a few of the new parts to get everything working (including but not limited to a new carb and new cable throttle), but the car now runs like a dream. They're all incredibly knowledgeable and provide quality service. They really went above and beyond. A big thank you to Tom for working on my car and for putting up with me being nosey and visiting on my breaks from work. Tracey Tom and all the team are wonderful and feel very lucky to have been recommended Maldon Road Garage who done a incredible job welding & undersealing my Mk2 Golf Gti 16v along with various engine and brake upgrades the attention to detail was incredible lovely and polite and always kept up to date with progress and will not take my car anywhere else a truly fantastic team and a joy to deal with many many thanks Mikey
