How are you gonna tell a guy with extreme anxiety, who is in severe pain with a half swollen face due to an infection leading to his left eye, to be patient and have a seat in the waiting room for an hour an half???? Meanwhile everyone in the waiting room can clearly see the extreme discomfort and pain that I'm in, borderline panic attack and tears, after over an hour of suffering in that waiting room, I went to the front desk at the ER to complain that I NEEDED to see a doctor quicker than this, only to be met with be patient and wait.... Real compassion. So I went home to have my panic attack and breakdown in solitude. Now I'm back at the same ER for the 3rd time today because I can't get to a compassionate hospital in Paducah. Wish me luck this time, maybe somebody will notice the guy pacing the ER waiting room....

After multiple trips to other facilities and providers we were left with no answers as our child continued to decline. Massac ER and Dr Fung were attentive and listened to our concerns. They ordered the appropriate testing and diagnosed our child with pneumonia. They provided her with medication to take home as the pharmacy was closed for the holiday. All the staff from the physician and nurses to security were compassionate and thorough with our child and us. I will continue to trust Massac hospital with family’s emergency needs. Thank you to everyone who helped our baby girl and her tired, stressed and scared parents! You all are more appreciated than you know!

My son was in an accident on an E-Bike last Thursday evening. We are not from the area but Massac was the closest hospital. The care we received from Dr. Waters and nurse Samantha were phenomenal. They were quick and courteous. He recieved a CT scan and several stitches on the inside of his mouth to reattach his moth to his gums. We met with an oral surgeon today in our home town (PanamaCity, FL) and he was very impressed with the stitches and said nothing else was needed at this time. Thank you Massac and staff for the great service and kindness in a not so great situation.

Was seen in the ER for a bad migraine that I had taken 2 doses of Tylenol PM before going to be seen. Those Tylenols did not ease my migraine so I went to be seen. Unfortunately I got the same idiot I had last time I went for a migraine he sent the nurse in with zofran and Tylenol I have an ice bag and sunglasses on because I hurt so bad. I sent my husband out to see if they could discharge me since they didn’t want to treat me I mean I can take Tylenol at home. Dr Oats was the idiot doctor I saw and he asks a question and then doesn’t let you answer that question before asking more questions. He then took his instrument and pounded it under my eyes then send me for a ct scan which was completely unnecessary to even do but whatever. He came back into my room and gave me the 3rd degree about why I didn’t take the morphine the nurse brought in well because I told him that morphine gives me a migraine so not going to take that when I already had one. He also asked why my insurance won’t pay for the medicine he gave me last time hell I don’t know why they won’t pay for it. Then he said my pcp should treat my migraines and send me to a neurologist yes I have been to a neurologist have had multiple tests and scans done and there is no cause for the migraines I get which ones this bad I get maybe 3 times a year and he acts like I get them regularly. First off when you have a migraine the last thing you want to do is engage in 20 questions with someone who won’t listen to your answers. In his derogatory questioning he not once told me the results of the useless CT scan he had done that I hope my insurance doesn’t cover cause I sure as hell won’t pay for it. I left the er clinging to my husband because I was so ligheaded and dizzy and couldn’t even walk straight and this is how I was allowed to walk out the door……untreated and with no relief at all. Personally I don’t see how this doctor even has a license if this is how he treats people he has ZERO empathy for people in pain. I left with a but 5 pages on migraines but did not get sand papers regarding my stats when I went in and then my BP when I left that was conveniently left off of my discharge paperwork which I know my BP was high because I felt my heart was going. To jump out of my chest. This hospital needs to get rid of this doctor before they have a lawsuit. I will NEVER step foot in this hospital again and be treated the way I was treated today how dare this doctor treat someone this way. He told me to follow up with my pcp and believe me when this migraine is gone trust me they will be told.

Massac Memorial Hospital is a general hospital.
