I've had to visit a couple of times in the middle of the night. Unfortunately my visits were similar each time. The woman at the check in counter is clearly annoyed that you are there. Her personal skills are pretty much non existent. But it gets worse. The nighttime nurse (dark hair, late 40s) is anything but nice. She asked me if I had called poison control, and I said yes but they didn't answer so I hurried to the er, she said "poison control ALWAYS answers " as if I was lying. I showed the other nurse my 4 minute call (4 minutes on hold on this type of situation can be a very long time). I've had both of these women each time I've gone in and I've decided I will travel 40 miles if I need an er again. On top of all this, I was given a shot that made be so drowsy I kept falling asleep. But they woke me up to tell me it could go home. When I told them how drowsy I was, they said it should be about worn off as they encouraged me to leave. I don't remember how I got home, and I slept another 10 hours. I definitely should not have been permitted to leave let alone pushed out the door. I guess this is the best they can do in this small area, which is too bad because people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect when they go to a care facility with concerns for their health. It's scary enough as it is, to be treated this way is just unacceptable.

They get 2 stars because the hospital staff are excellent, and the people that work here are good people. If I was just ranking them, it’s 4 and 5 stars nearly every time. Without them, I give it a 1 star, only because that is the lowest option. The administration is a complete disaster, almost every thing I’ve had done here the billing has rarely been done correctly. then they ship your calls to the other side of the world and expect some person that speaks broken English to fix their mistakes. A simple MRI that cost me around $200 at Steinberg, cost my wife around $700 done here because they bill you as being admitted into the hospital. Then they mess the billing up and require you to do all the footwork to correct it. I keep wanting to hope they will fix their administrative procedures, but I get burned about every 5 years, and regret it each time. Shame on me, I guess?! The previous time was a couple hundred dollar ER copay to get a 5 minute outpatient x-ray completed. Go at your own risk, the people that actually treat you have been great to us. It’s literally everything else that makes this hospital so frustrating to work with. They’re ruining a good service to a community that desperately needs it.

I’ve been to mesa view 2 different times in there emergency room. One time I fell and scraped my forehead and cheek are to the point I needed 41 stitches. It was very busy but that didn’t affect the treatment I received. The wound healed up perfectly. The 3rd time was when my son checked in for alcohol abuse. He was in the hospital for over 4 days I couldn’t believe how calm and patient the staff was during this ordeal. The nurses doctors and the kitchen staff gave him 24 hr service just if he was at home. So I give the Mesa View hospital 5 stars

Last Friday I had a total hip joint surgery performed in the morning by Dr Scott Parry, and went home that afternoon. Each and every person I came into contact with was exceptional. Highly recommend all of the surgical staff. We are so fortunate to have such highly trained personnel in Mesquite.
