Andrea was absolutely lovely. I have a rope chain that has broken on me many times and i was looking for a new gold chain because it didn’t make sense to fix it again. She showed me different options, cleaned my cross for me, and mentioned refurbishing my chain. Since my chain used to be my moms, it holds a lot of value and meaning to me. Andrea made a great suggestion to take the broken chain and have it made into a bracelet. I LOVED that idea and will definitely be back to have this done. Andrea made me realize the importance of refurbishing jewelry because of how much memory it may hold. I will definitely be returning in the near future. Thank you Andrea for having a kind soul!:)

My friend purchased a necklace for me as a gift from the Fairview store. When I received it, I noticed that the last loop was faulty. It’s not immediately obvious, but it’s clear that the issue was due to a manufacturing defect rather than any damage caused after purchase. Since we were closer to the Conestoga location, we went there to request a refund. Unfortunately, the staff member we spoke with repeatedly insisted that the necklace may have been damaged by us and said she couldn’t offer a refund. She also stated that even if the return was within 30 days, she couldn’t accept a “worn” item — even though we explained the fault was not due to wear. She continued to refer to store policies and kept telling us we should read the terms, but when asked, she was unable to show us where this specific policy was listed on the website. She also mentioned that she couldn’t vouch for the condition of the necklace and wasn’t sure who might have caused the damage, implying it could have been us. This was frustrating and disappointing, especially since I had previously lost another Michael Hill necklace, which I now strongly suspect was also faulty and came loose without me noticing. These experiences have left me very hesitant to shop at Michael Hill again.
