I recently looked at a set of diamond jewelry priced at over $3,000. I spent less than five minutes viewing it. Although I liked it, I felt it wasn’t very practical. The staff offered to check whether I was eligible for installment payments, and I agreed because I only wanted to know if I qualified. I handed over my ID for that purpose. However, after asking me a few questions, I realized something was off. When I asked what she was doing, I found out she was already processing an installment plan for me without my consent. I immediately told her I was not purchasing the jewelry and asked her to return my ID and stop the process. I feel this kind of sales approach is very inappropriate. Although some time has passed, I still think it’s necessary to warn others so they don’t end up being pushed into a purchase without fully realizing what’s happening.

I rarely leave reviews, but my experience at the Michael Hill store in Markville Mall was so disappointing that I felt compelled to warn others. The customer service was shockingly unprofessional and dismissive. When I went to the store, there were four or five staff members. I reached out to one of them regarding adjusting the watch that I bought. The staff went and talked to another one in their language and told me it would be charged. From the moment I walked in, I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. The staff showed little to no interest in helping me. I spent a good money at Michael Hill and expected at least a basic level of respect and assistance. Sadly, that was too much to ask. If this is how they treat paying customers. Please shop elsewhere. NOT THIS LOCATION.

I received a gift from my best friend for a necklace purchased at Micheal hill. I went to exchange the product with my gift receipt and nowhere on the receipt does it mention a limit of 30 days for me to exchange. Upon asking to exchange the unopened necklace, the cashier said she cant do it because of the 30 day policy. It is not on your receipt that gifts should be exchanged as so. Then I asked to speak to a manager and she said she is on leave for a couple days. I asked her to call her and she said no, she doesn’t have her managers number and that I should come back when she is here. Then I asked her to call the manager and she said no again. MIND YOU, I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and I will not be back for 2 months. I am highly disappointed and unsatisfied with the service I was given today and how this was dealt. Will never purchase from this company again and neither should you.

This is my first experience of shopping with Michael Hill. I was looking for a specific ring for my friend as a birthday present. I came to this location, showed up with an item screenshot from MH website. Not even with a question, I just place the order. My associate grabbed the ring on the display shelf and cut off the tag without even offering me to double check. 2 days after I found a better gift for my friends and would like to return them. The time I came back to the same associate, she refused my return and insisted that this is not the same size she sold to me and the shape is twisted. I was very confused since we never open nor even tried on after purchase. She tried to kick me out saying I have to came back only manager can dealt with return. My whole experience was really disappointing and disheartening. It makes me feel not welcome and very unfair if I purchased the item already in a not returnable condition, I was not given a guarantee of happiness. Would not come back for another time, and not recommend to any friends and family.
