Absolutely One of the Best Quality Inn & Suites Hotels that I've ever enjoyed. Easily in the Top 5. You can see that they've had a lot of new renovations done, inside & outside of their hotel. All the staff members had a smile on their face, and were super friendly, helpful, and expedient in their duties and tasks (especially the young lady at the front desk)in quickly helping the continuous influx of tired & cranky(some outright rude) guests, and all the while remaining courteous professionals. 👏🏼👏🏼 Nice, cozy, clean rooms with amazingly comfortable beds. I was pleasantly surprised that even though their large & spacious parking lot was close to 98% capacity with only a handful of parking spots left, and with so many guests coming & going from dusk til dawn, it was incredibly quiet both inside and outside of the premises. Most excellent. Couldn't connect to the YouTube app, so I just cast it from my phone. However, I was literally flabbergasted( I always wanted to use that word in a sentence, lol)by their "free" complimentary breakfast. Hands down, "The Best Complimentary Breakfast" I've ever had at a Quality Inn. Nearly all other hotels idea of a "free complimentary breakfast" are, - Blueberry or Chocolate Muffins - Some kind of healthy granola bars - Orange Juice and of course, - Coffee...and that's only if you get there early. Here's a list, you tell me... - Toast( white & wheat)with butter, peanut butter, honey, grape & strawberry jelly to spread - Bagels( 4 different choices)with butter, peanut butter, and cream cheese as spreads - English Muffins( same spread choices as above) - Apples, oranges, & bananas - Corn Flakes and Raisin Brand cereal - Belgium Waffles & French Toast( make your own) - Eggs - Sausage - Milk - Orange Juice - Apple Juice and of course, coffee. I definitely plan on staying only at this Quality Inn & Suites on Santa Rosa Ave. in Santa Rosa for all my foreseeable future weekend visits and getaways from now on.
The room was absolutely filthy. Specifically the walls and floor. There were boogers on the ceiling and wall? I took videos of it all. The biggest issue was that the latch bolt was completely missing from my door frame. Meaning that when it was “locked” it wasn’t locking into anything but the open wall. I did not feel safe as a woman staying alone. I went down to request a different room and the manager said they were booked out but could change it in the morning. I had to leave for work in the morning before it would be ready and when my boss tried to call them and see if they could hold the room till i got back and make the switch. But no one answered the phone even with calling 3 times. I never got my room switched nor did the cleaning people come and clean my room while i was out for the day. I also feel that the door latch is an easy issue to fix and get maintenance to come and put another one on but apparently that couldn’t happen. Again I did not feel safe as a woman staying here alone for work. This is by far the worst Quality Inn i’ve ever stayed at and I definitely won’t be back to this location.
Location is very convenient. Bedroom was clean and well prepared. Agent was friendly. BUT, it began when I was checking in and a door was open behind the agent showing beaten up boxes stacked on a wall. Wasn't a great look. The hall smelled of cigarette smoke. Neighboring rooms had loud talking and noise, easily heard from my room. Not that you could do much about this, but woken at 4 am by the dumpster being emptied. Sounded like furniture was being moved around 4:30 am and if sleep had been a priority, it would have been really aggravating. Luckily, it wasn't and everything worked out fine. I would not hesitate to stay there again, under certain circumstances. I wouldn't have a problem telling other people about it, though I'd explain the negatives I described and let them make up their own mind.
The mini fridge was too loud to tolerate, which explained why it was unplugged and leaking water on the floor when we arrived. The bathroom emitted an odd smell... mildew mixed with a septic smell? The beds were too hard for me to sleep well at all, and the walls had food splatter still crusted on them. Ew. I cleaned a bit upon arrival and also noticed the mattresses are not encased. Surprising for a hotel. Just kinda disappointing, although the breakfast was ok and the price low enough to justify the shortcomings, I guess.
Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Modesto Ceres is a hotel.
