Customer experiences
Been with Midwest since the pandemic. in the beginning all the nurses and docs were attentive, listened to detail and treated the patients good. But now whoever does the hiring needs to do mental health checks on the newer doctors (the nurses are good and okay) but the doctors need to start being clinical doctors instead of being on ego trips. (Had to refuse services and was refused service) Would ever even bother using this service again cause of these newer wannabes and they keep changing them over and over. 3 stars for the cleanliness of the facility, nurses and check out counter agent. They are always nice and work efficiently.
Nobody wants to go to urgent care, but when you have to go, do yourself a favor and go to the Midwest Express in Roscoe Village. There’s a small parking lot. You can reserve a spot online (which is not an appointment time, but reduces your waiting time in the lobby.) I like these things. Let’s talk about the providers. They’re thorough and really nice. They make me feel as comfortable as I can in an uncomfortable setting. I’ve been here several times and had the same experience with different providers.
There is nothing express or urgent about this clinic. I came to the clinic and checked in at 12:05 and didn’t get seen until 1:15. The reason for my visit was time sensitive. The longer I waited to be seen, the more at risk I was for injury or illness. I explained this to the front desk and the nurses, yet they moved sluggishly. I suppose they operate on a first come first serve basis, but some conditions are objectively more pressing than others. More frustratingly, the service was subpar. The PA didn’t know the basic answers to my questions. Anytime I asked a question she would say “let me check on that” and leave for five to ten minutes. I imagine she was consulting with someone else: a nurse, a PA, Google, ChatGPT. I don’t know, but what I do know is she didn’t know much. It was so bad one nurse came into my room, looked surprised to see me there, and asked “oh you’re still here? what are you waiting for?” This was an hour and a half after I arrived. P.S. their rooms lights cut off after a certain time if they don’t detect motion. The light cut off SIX times before I was even seen. Image below:
I was at Midwest express with terrible flu like symptoms. been in bed for five days. Turns out I had pneumonia. They got me in right away took tests got me diagnosed and I’m feeling better already. Chad and Wasim were absolutely terrific. We will be going back there much more often and we will take our kids. They were on it.!!!
Midwest Express Clinic Urgent Care is a urgent care center.
