Customer experiences
My wife and I had an absolutely amazing dining experience at Miku. From the moment we walked in, the energy and atmosphere felt welcoming and lively, setting the stage for a memorable evening. The staff were attentive, friendly, and clearly passionate about the food they were serving. We decided to go with the chef’s choice menu, and it was the best decision we could have made. Every course that came out was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Each dish felt like a perfect balance of creativity and tradition, and we loved the variety that the menu offered. The quality of the fish and ingredients was outstanding. Every bite was fresh and perfectly prepared, and it was one of those meals where we didn’t want it to end. The pacing of the courses was spot on too, giving us time to enjoy each dish without ever feeling rushed. Overall, Miku exceeded our expectations in every way. The combination of atmosphere, service, and unforgettable food made this one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had in Vancouver. My wife and I left beyond satisfied and can’t wait to come back. A must-visit if you’re in the city.
Reservations (at the bar) for 5pm because there were no tables available for 2. the 1/2 order of Maguro Sashimi ($22.50) and Otoro Sashimi ($31) fresh and melted in your mouth. 1/2 order of Surf & Turf roll ($12) and 1/2 order of Red Wave roll ($10) was a nice delicious sampling of these rolls. Oshi Sampler ($21) tasty; Wagyu Carpaccio ($38) was fresh but small (but enough)Kaisen Soba ($32) had fresh vegetables and seasoned well. Tightrope Rose ($23 for 9oz). Left at 6:15pm and they had only seated 2 other tables and allowed a screaming child to wait with his mother while she ordered take-out and WAITED inside for the order. It was a beautiful day and hostess certainly could have asked them to wait outside. Service was ok. Bartenders seemed to be pre-occupied. Runners were fast and furious. Food was good but not sure if worth it. Probably.
My friend and I had the most fabulous experience at Miku on our day trip to Vancouver! We enjoyed the Signature Lunch Shokai which gave us each; two appetizers, miso soup and a serving of their traditional and Aburi Oshi sushi. The appetizers were so delicious. The first one I had was cold matcha noodles in a delectable peanut sauce topped with fresh prawns. The second appetizer was a meatball-type concoction with wagyu meat, paired with warm mashed potatoes which were topped with a sauce that tasted like Dijon mustard (definitely my favourite). The miso soup was so soothing to have, and we were also served two types of tea; jasmine and fresh green tea. For the main course, each piece of sushi had its own unique story and flavour palate to it. It was such an indulging experience, I would take a flight back just to have this meal again at Miku! I highly recommend putting a reservation in before going as they are very busy (for all the right reasons). We didn’t have a reservation as we were just flying into the city for the day, but we were promptly seated with a fantastic view of the harbour and the restaurant itself. Our server Wendy was so sweet and friendly, she and the other servers explained each dish thoroughly. The staff made us feel cozy and welcome! Thank you Miku for the amazing food and outstanding service.
I didn’t have a reservation, so I sat at the bar—and honestly, it turned out great. I had the Kaiseki course and added some prime rib on the side. Every dish was super fresh and beautifully presented. The service was friendly and on point, even at the bar. I also tried a bunch of drinks while I was there, and they were all really well made. The whole experience was smooth, relaxed, and way better than I expected without a table. Definitely recommend if you’re into high-quality sushi and want something special but still chill. Would go back for!!!
