Customer experiences
We had a wonderful time at this beautiful resort just outside Austin. Everyone we encountered was wonderful and all the activities we participated in were interesting and enjoyable. I loved Maggie's water aerobics, the stretching class with Cate , the farm visit with Hunter, Hope's dietician talks (food combinations , smart grocery shopping), the nature walk, line dancing with Dominique, and Steven's talk on stress solutions. My husband really enjoyed the archery class. We both had treatments at the spa, which were top notch. ||The food was very good, lots of choices and very generous. We could indulge in the buffet and order a la carte as well. The antelope steak was especially delicious. Service was excellent.
My two adult daughters and I spent a remarkable and life-affirming three days at Miraval Austin. The entire experience was amazing and everyone was warm and welcoming. Particularly, we want to point out three people who went way above and beyond the call of duty. Denise (don’t know her last name) was available to help with Creating, Understanding, Updating, and changing activities. Christen (Don’t know her last name)in the front office went way beyond check-in duties, guiding us throughout the weekend. Laurie Burdicka gave advice that was life changing. We liked her grief counseling class so much that we scheduled private sessions for all of us. We will return!
The resort is very clean, neat and comfortable. However, we were not offered an orientation tour as others had. I felt a little lost and disjointed the first day on site. They never told me where my meditation class would be and I was walking around the resort trying to figure that one out. Slightly stressful. The restaurant service was below par. It was hard to get service and they often forgot our requests. The evening sun shone right into the dining room and blinded you while you were eating. They had no window treatments. When I asked about that they said they were working on it. That shouldn't have been too hard a task to purchase and installed a shade system. The food was very good. Two outdoor pools were delightful. The spa was excellent. Overall I would say 50% of the staff was joyful, the other 50% were just doing their job and not overly hospitable to the customers. My general feeling on site was not a lot of enthusiasm.
This property is phenomenal—a true retreat for adults! The classes were outstanding, and the food was exceptional. The rooms are slightly outdated but still comfortable, with excellent air conditioning and divine bedding. Shinny at the front desk was incredibly welcoming, and Lori, the facilitator, was phenomenal. I highly recommend taking all of her classes! It was hard to take other photos as I had my phone off!
