Customer experiences
We’ll definitely be back. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, Nightingale nailed it. Couldn’t have picked a better spot to celebrate our anniversary. The fried chicken was tasty, though not the best I’ve ever had—probably wouldn’t order it again. The seared prawns were fresh, but the real star of that dish was the butter potatoes. The garlic elevated the butter beautifully without overpowering it. The pasta was hands down our favourite of the night—fresh clams, perfectly al dente spaghetti, and a sauce that was light yet packed with depth. Honestly, we almost wanted to sneak into the kitchen and beg for the recipe. And the pizza? Absolutely stellar. Probably the best in town. Crispy, chewy, flavourful—just the right balance. You’ll have to try it for yourself to see what we mean
Before our trip to Vancouver, when we were looking up places to visit, we came across Nightingale Restaurant. Today, when we came here for lunch, we realized all those great reviews were absolutely correct . We ordered Japanese sweet potato and fried chicken as appetizer, both were generous in portion and incredibly delicious. For the main course, we had the spaghetti with jalapeño, which was amazing and truly the restaurant’s signature dish. Also, Elena was very kind and helped us with great recommendations, making our experience even better.
Great food and atmosphere! I'd recommend getting a reservation because by the time we did (I think 7-10 days in advance?), we had to choose between 4:45pm & 8pm. The food and drinks were all very good. Something of note - they are very serious about no substitutions. My mom can't do anything spicy and there was an item we wanted to try (gnocco fritto) and it had a spicy element to it (chili honey). When we asked the waiter if we could leave it off, he reminded us of the policy. I get it and we ordered something else instead, but it was still a bummer.
We popped into Nightingale for a walk-in lunch and were absolutely blown away. The restaurant has a wonderfully chic and vibrant atmosphere, buzzing with energy even during the day. It's a beautiful space. The cocktails were expertly crafted—a perfect midday treat. We shared the beet salad, which was fresh and flavourful, and the pizza was simply outstanding with a perfect crust. Even as walk-ins, the service was fantastic. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made our spontaneous lunch feel like a special occasion. Nightingale is an amazing spot for an elevated lunch in downtown Vancouver. Highly recommend!
