After dealing with call center issues with my appointment, got into the office in Maddison and they were WONDERFUL. Turns out they didn’t take my insurance despite what the call center told me & I had already had a horrendous day before getting to the dentist so that was the last thing I wanted to hear. The office manager and my hygienist were the nicest women who made me feel so much better about every thing and we’re still about to treat me. Will still be coming here and paying what I can out of pocket because it was that nice.

I visited this establishment a few months back, to be seen by Dr. Dean for a toothache issue, as I saw that he performed a certain procedure I was interested in. There was little to no wait time, but after I was called back, the appointment went downhill. The dental assistants had a very hard time getting X-rays, and then comes in Dr. Gales, who very curtly threw an unwanted and costly treatment plan at me, and kept going. He was very cold and rude, and had no interest in me nor my medical issue. As I was checking out, I explained to the receptionist, that when I called to set the appointment, I specifically requested Dr. Dean. She went to the back (I am guessing to speak with Dr. Dean and the office manager), and I was called to the back once more and Dr. Dean came in, apologized and proceeded with the exam. After that I came to check out again, and the receptionist was being very pushy and adamant about me setting up a procedure date. As we all know, dental procedures are extremely costly (even with insurance), and I needed to speak with my mother first. She then very loudly says “WHY ? BECAUSE SHE HAS BETTER CREDIT?”. I never came back. I asked before the appointment how much my consult would be, and was initially told insurance would cover it. A month or so ago, I started receiving an outrageous bill. I called to speak with the office manager to resolve the bill, and I have yet to receive a call back- it has been over a month now. Each time I call I get told “she’s busy, but I’ll make sure she calls back”. It does not take a month to get a call back about a bill. Dr. Dean is great, I wish I could have been a patient of his, but not under this nightmare of a clinic.

I started almost a year ago with this practice and was initially impressed. But it quickly went “south” when I started getting retro-billed stating that they weren’t able to bill my South Carolina dental plus, which has been a great insurance that they originally stated they billed. I contacted my state insurance advocate who immediately accessed a three way conference call, informed their office manager that their practice is covered as a provider. Apparently they do not do billing on site and have to send their bills to Michigan. Emily said she would contact them and provide this information and get back with me. She failed to do so and now isn’t taking my call. Glad others haven’t had this experience since the reviews are so high, but if your insurance happens to be from another state, beware.
