Customer experiences
Great experience. We went on the Eco and Wildlife tour. It was great to get to see where the ocean and river meet to create a unique habitat. We did see Alligators but chose the tour to see the other wildlife. Captain Pip was a great tour guide and checked in the day prior. The location is closer to the French Quarters than the Bayou tours and Captain Pip new everything about the animals, plants, history, local resources, and preservation and safety processes being built for the city. They recently bought their current location and are developing it so you can see some of the plants right on the shore and it will be even better when it is completed! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in the areas wildlife, history, and preservation work!
The tour exceeded my expectations. From the second we stepped onto the property, before getting on the boat, the staff was friendly and inviting. Our crew included captain Eddy and Julian as the deck hand. They were the perfect balance of professional and fun. We enjoyed the sites of the bayou, interacting with the gators, and hearing facts about the area. Thank you for the fun time! An experience I will never forget.
We went for a bachelorette trip and had a wonderful time at the New Orleans pedal barge!! We booked the private pontoon boat (for up to six people & 1 hr 45 min trip for reference) and it was perfect for our group. The tiki boats looked fun as well, but if your group is looking for a more private experience, this is the way to go!!! We had Captain Ben and he went above and beyond. He celebrated the bride, took photos so we could all be in one, introduced us to the gator friends, and taught us about the wildlife/nature. The speakers are great if you have a friend who you want to be the DJ. Since it was the private boat, they were also able to accommodate some craziness that happened on the way there! Our driver got confused (they give a heads up on the website but sharing here if you haven’t seen it yet- there are two “2101 Paris Road” addresses in the area. One is in New Orleans, the correct one, and wrong one is Chalmette.) Despite clarifying with our transportation, we were taken to the wrong one and barely made it a few minutes before our check in time. Thank goodness we left early!! Highly recommend leaving at least an hour early in case that happens to you & do a quality assurance/double check with your Uber/taxi, even if they said they put the right address in! 😂 Note: If you’re on a group boat, I don’t think they’re able to do the same thing as they have a responsibility to be fair to the other customers by leaving the dock on time, whereas arriving late for a private tour, it would shorten your time on the boat. Still not what you want to do out of respect for the captain ofc, but just sharing here so you are aware!) PS - Do your waiver in advance to make things easy! There is also a hangout area for when you arrive with music that you can wait at when you arrive. Overall, we had a five star experience!!! Thanks Captain Ben for helping us celebrate our bride!
Was such a good time! Would do this for a group activity. Make sure you bring your own bottle and make a good playlist to play.
