I decided to get my eyes checked at Oasis, in the hopes that I would get a good deal when I bought my glasses (I did get a very good deal on my glasses). I had been having trouble seeing at night with my glasses and I couldn't see very far away with my glasses either; night or day. Surprise, I needed cataract surgery. The Doctor nudged me a bit to go and see an ophthalmologist and boy was I glad that he did. Apparently, my eyes did have cataracts and I ended up having them removed. Who woulda thunk that an optometrist at a Costco would catch this problem and direct me to a great ophthalmologist. Oasis Vision Center is now mine and my husband's go to optometrist. I went the year after my cataract removal and the doctor found out that I had near perfect vision. Win, win, win.

I have been going to Oasis Vision Center for 17 years. But I have never felt so slighted as I did today. My wife and I had scheduled our appointments a year ago at our annual checkup. My wife received a text message from them saying that her appointment for tomorrow had been cancelled because she hadn't responded to a previous text message on time. I have never seen anything like this before. My wife does not check her messages regularly as she is Asian, and they use a different messaging app. She happened to see the cancellation because a notification popped up as she was using her phone. So, there was no phone call or email or any other communication from Oasis. When I called their office the woman that answered was not very cordial. She told me that all appointments are tentative and when my wife did not respond in a timely manner to their message, they gave her appointment to someone else. My wife had confirmed 2 days prior to the appointment date, and they responded and said thank you and looking forward to seeing her. Then the next day she gets the message that her appointment had been cancelled and given to someone else. Never did we get a call as we have other years. Also, the person was very curt and told me that was their policy and there was nothing she could do which was definitely new to me. She said they had an appointment the next day. So, no problem just use more gas. We specifically scheduled the appointments together so we could make one trip. In the past I have always felt welcome at Oasis, but after today I no longer feel that way. If that is the way they treat their patients, and I don't receive an apology I will be looking for another vision center.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Pieper at Oasis Vision for 10 years, but unfortunately, my last experience has led me to seek another optometrist. While I have always appreciated Dr. Pieper’s professionalism, the behavior of her front office staff was unacceptable and unprofessional during my most recent visit. I was caught in unexpected construction traffic and arrived 11 minutes late to my appointment—a rare occurrence, as I am always punctual. Upon arrival, I was informed that my appointment was canceled due to being past the 10-minute cutoff. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, I was disappointed by the lack of grace or understanding extended to me, especially given the circumstances and my long-standing loyalty as a patient. What made the experience worse was not just the cancellation itself, but the dismissive and condescending tone of the staff. When I calmly and professionally expressed my frustration, I was told they would remove both me and my husband from their mailing list. This response felt unnecessarily hostile and lacking in basic customer service courtesy. Dr. Pieper, I strongly urge you to consider providing customer service training for your front office team. A more empathetic and professional approach could have salvaged this situation. Sadly, I ended up visiting Walmart Vision the same day to use my yearly benefits before they expired—and to my surprise, the service there was far superior. I am truly disappointed that this is how my decade-long relationship with your office has come to an end.
