Customer experiences
I had Olympus Garage Door Service come out for their $19 service call. The technician told me I had a broken spring (which was true), but then quoted me $700 per spring. When I mentioned I had a quote for $450, he immediately dropped it to $450 per spring. At the time, I was a little confused and thought maybe my other quote had been per spring too, so I told him to go ahead. Within a couple of minutes, after talking with my husband, we realized our first quote was actually $450 total, not per spring, so we decided we wanted to hold off and do more research. When we told the technician we weren’t ready to move forward, he suddenly dropped the price again to $250 per spring, which made me even more uncomfortable. When I still declined, he said he’d have to charge labor and tried to have me sign an invoice for $120, even though he had only just set up his ladder and hadn’t done any work. I asked to speak with his manager, who first claimed the technician had already “opened things up,” which was not true — I even had pictures showing the old springs were still completely intact. After I explained what happened, the manager agreed to just charge the $19 service fee. The whole experience felt really sketchy with how much the prices changed and how pressured I felt to make a quick decision. I definitely would NOT recommend this company.
I would absolutely not recommend their services. The technician either couldn't or, more likely, wouldn't fix my broken garage door spring. Instead of doing the job I hired him for, he started pushing a new garage door on me, claiming some phony "special promotion." He had the nerve to tell me I could cancel in two days. I was stupid enough to give him my credit card, and he slapped a $1,000 charge on it to "secure the deal." After a while, I came to my senses. It didn't feel right, so just two hours later, I called him to cancel. He completely ignored my request, just rambling on about how "great" the new garage door was. I had to call him a second time that same day just to demand a cancellation. This time, he promised his manager would call me that evening. Of course, no one ever did. The next day, I contacted the company directly, but they gave me the same runaround. I called them again on the second day, and what did they do? They had the technician call me back! He had the audacity to tell me, "You can't cancel it because you already passed your cancellation date." I immediately hung up and called my credit card company to report this fraudulent charge and their scamming practices. In the end, I worked with a different garage door company to fix my door for several hundreds of dollars.
This company quoted me $900 when I asked for my back up battery to be replaced. They told me the battery wasn’t an issue. After getting multiple quotes I found they were flat out lying. Wish I read the reviews this company shouldn’t be in business and is predatory.
I wish I had read the reviews before hiring this company. We had just moved into our home and urgently needed our garage door opener repaired. Unfortunately, their so-called "technician" failed to show up twice. Normally, that would have been enough for me to cancel altogether, but out of desperation, I kept the appointment. When he finally arrived, he spent most of the visit speaking on his phone in another language and barely interacted with me. He didn’t troubleshoot the opener at all and gave a vague explanation in broken English. His immediate “diagnosis” was that we needed a brand-new garage door. Granted, our door was old, heavy, and noisy, but his pushy approach raised concerns. He first quoted nearly $4,000 for a replacement, and when I asked about repairing the existing door instead, he suddenly dropped the price to $2,200. We ultimately agreed, and he promised an installer would arrive the next day—then disappeared and never followed up. The next day, an actual installer did show up. He was polite, knowledgeable, and explained multiple issues that the first person completely missed. He needed additional materials, so he rescheduled twice before finally returning to complete the installation. In the end, the job was done properly, but only thanks to the installer—not the initial “technician.” It became clear to me that the first person wasn’t a technician at all—just a salesman whose goal was to upsell me a new door rather than attempt any real repair. This company is deceptive and unprofessional. Save yourself the frustration and go with a reputable garage door company with proven reviews. This one is a scam.
