Narcissistic nurse, doctor great! First off! A nurse wouldn’t remove my iv even though I was done. She got pissed because I said based on PTSD I’ll take it out! I got upset because she said she was coming to my room twice to remove it. She gave me major attitude. I told her i have diagnosed PTSD and trauma happen in my arm! Her response “now you cause me to have trauma and ptsd”. Quit your dam job if you feel you have PTSD! You get paid huge dollars and not even American. This shows me Trump is 100% right at holding employees accountable since Penn state can’t. Outside of her comment, no niceness in her, and attitude, the doctor should receive 5 stars. I just can’t because a nurse being narcissistic on a huge salary is not in my definition. I will update her name on here to protect patients and a very crappy healthcare system. Patient relations I tried before but all they do is protect employers. Penn state is gonna lose huge money with me.
Brought my son there after a car accident. We checked in and sat for 2 minutes before he was called back. Then after triage, right to a treatment room. All nurses, doctors, xray techs, and anyone else we met was friendly and helpful. Way better than UPMC West Shore by 1000%.
About the only thing I can say for this ER is it is clean. I went to Urgent Care last night and they wanted me to go to the ER to have further testing done. I had a fever, chills, and was in serious pain. I waited in the waiting room for over 4 hours! The waiting room was full of people using the ER for their PCP. No one was obviosly hurting or really sick. People were laughing and talking, and even eating full meals. I felt like I was at an airport. Kids were running all over as well. Ridiculous that they can leave a person who is suffering like I was to wait for well over four hours, while they take back others who clearly are using the Emergency room as their personal physician. After I finally got back, I had a doctor come and speak to me who was very rude and condescending. He spoke to me like a child, and was very dismissive of my symptoms and concerns. I then showed him the paper the UC gave me with notes about ruling out certain conditions. He said "Maybe you should just tell me what you're here for instead of focusing on what is written on that paper, because most of the time those UC people have no idea what they're talking about!" This was so unprofessional and rude, badmouthing another group of people in your same profession. That was both an arrogant and insecure thing to say. I had a really great experience at that UC and with those providers, and it was such a juxtaposition to the entire experience at the ER at Hampden. This is my second experience at this ER, and the first time was exactly the same. I will not choose this location again. And Dr. Sokoloski...do better! Edit: To Hospital Admin, Judging by all of these reviews regarding how poorly people are treated in your ER by almost all of the staff, you clearly are doing nothing about any of this, despite your copy and pasted responses. If you were actually taking action with these employees, this wouldn't keep happening. You are way understaffed (that's your choice, to save on the bottom line), and the people you have working for you clearly know they can get away with treating patients poorly with zero repercussions. My nurse Zachary was the only exception. He was respectful, empathetic, and attentive. Not a single other employee I interacted with was any of those things...the doctor being the biggest offender. Also, the security guard (or some other staff member) spent two hours talking to the front desk person about his divorce and the financial issues around it, loud enough for the whole ER to hear. So inappropriate and unprofessional. Is anyone running this circus?
Took fam member there at 4:30 am with stroke symptoms. He was taken right back and staff swarmed him quickly to start treatment. I couldn't be happier with the treatment we received. I only wish they built this place just a few miles closer to Carlisle as we don't have a competent ER in Carlisle.
