Warning to potential tenants and landlords. As owners of a multi-family rental property, I would be appalled if my tenants were ever treated this way by our property management. Highly recommend you seek out other options in the area. We are a military family and unfortunately had to choose a rental sight unseen due to the timeline of our move. Jennifer showed us the house via a Facetime call but left out the details that it was in very rough condition and smelled like a dog kennel. If we had had any indication of the smell, we absolutely would have not agreed to sign a lease. I am a big believer in full transparency, and it appeared that The Property Center was attempting to deceive us since we weren’t there to view it in person. During the move-in day, we drove multiple U-hauls across the country to show up at a home that was filthy and unsafe. The home had a horrible dog smell, sinks and mirrors that weren't clean, filthy carpets, a sink and construction supplies in the garage, and a bike in the backyard. The worst part about the house was that it was UNSAFE for our 1 and 4-year-old children. A portion of the carpet was pulled off the tacking strips and multiple nails were exposed on the ground in the main hallway. I immediately went back to The Property Center and asked that they cover an Airbnb until the carpet was fixed to ensure my children didn't step or crawl on those nails. The company TPC chose to repair the carpet did not show up the next day (as scheduled) so we were out $500 for a two-night Airbnb stay. Since we couldn't move the next day, we paid for a $500 deep clean and $300 carpet cleaning to try and get rid of the awful smell. It is so bad that we pitched to TPC that we would pay for half the carpet replacement if they could get the owner to agree. Attached is a photo from day 2 of vacuuming the entire house just so you can see how much dirt/hair we were still getting up. Eventually the owner agreed to replace the carpet with us splitting the cost (something a tenant should never be responsible for). Finally, after living in the house for a few days, we found out that the dishwasher and washing machine were both inoperative. We immediately submitted work orders and even proposed a washing machine solution (we had some in storage) but TPC showed zero sense of urgency for getting the washing machine fixed. My family moved across the country and was without laundry capability for 9 days. In the end, I reached out to Eli the owner of The Property Center and he was very apologetic/ asked for a week to investigate the matter. Multiple weeks went by with no response from Eli, and I sent a follow up email to meet in- person. Again, no response. I can’t say I am surprised that he ghosted me based on my experience with the staff, but I truly hoped he would do the right thing and address the matter. I wanted to keep this feedback between us and the company so they could use it as a learning opportunity but since the owner decided to blow me off, I think the future tenants and landlords should know about it.

My move in day was terrible. My apartment had no stove, fridge, bathroom mirror, or blinds on two of my windows. I feel like I’ve been lied to and misled about when all this will be fixed and why it’s happened. I payed both my deposit and first month rent weeks before they were due and walked into an unfinished apartment. The owners tried to offer me an old rusted oiled stove as a place holder till my new stove arrives but I pay the amount I do because it is advertised as RENOVATED. My kitchen base board had to be cut down about ten inches for my fridge to fit and still doesn’t open properly. Due to that there is exposed wall, chipped paint, and wood dust all over my kitchen. Construction being done to my apartment ON MY MOVE IN DAY is beyond unprofessional and just shows how unprepared and bad their communication skills are. I was given a three day estimate AFTER MY MOVE IN DATE of when my appliances would arrive. I wish I could leave this place already but I signed my lease for one year. I promise this is my last year dealing with this company.

Staff is extremely difficult to get ahold of. I would call, talk to the receptionist and ask for a specific person, she would comment me, and I would get voicemail every single time. I’ve also dealt with staff who were less than polite when I had questions. Repair requests take an extremely long time to be dealt with, and even though you’re paying rent they’ll make you pay the repair bill yourself if it’s not the “right” kind of damage. I got a an almost threatening notice that someone would be entering my unit to spray for pests, and that if I was not home to open and they did not have a key that they would break my door down and replace it, after which I would have to get a new key from them. This is not a friendly company to renters, and I would not recommend anyone live in one of their properties.

I had a great experience! Austin was a great communicator in times of need, listened to our wants and needs and aided in making the process as smooth a possible. He was professional and very knowledgeable throughout the whole process. I have and I am happy to recommend his services to many of my close friends and work colleagues.
