Progressive manages the common areas for my building. On July 7th a broken sprinkler started flooding my apartment. Since I rent through Mainstreet I contacted them and they informed me they had contacted progressive maintenance, and progressive would come fix the sprinkler. They did not. My apartment flooded every other day for a week and a half. I found out later that every time progressive was called to fix the sprinkler they informed Mainstreet it had been fixed but in reality they had never even sent someone to look at the problem. It wasn’t until my partner and I personally contacted the progressive maintenance manager, spoke to the rudest man ever who hung up on us simply for asking questions (Bill), and then got our resident manager and the property manager involved that the issue was addressed and fixed. If you can avoid dealing with progressive I strongly recommend you do so.
A company where the main thing is to rent, and residential conditions are not their task. When settling, where they promised to remove and paint everything, nothing was done in fact, but there was nowhere to go, everything washed, the blood was also from previous residents, then there were cockroaches, they waited 2 weeks while they deign to eliminate it, the neighbors drowned 2 times, but it is all the same, the lendlord can do repairs in Apartments, this is also in this one Company is allowed, often a washing and drying machine, constant dirt on the stairs, this is not a company, it is a disgrace ....
305 Queen St is a nightmare. Firstly, mail cannot be delivered to this building because of crime! They wont invest in secure mail boxes which is outrageous. We walked into complete darkness. There were no lights in the building but things were crawling around. We were shown a unit that was filled to the brim with garbage bags of stuff that belonged to a previous tenant. There were no lights in the unit we were shown. The building manager showed us a filthy, bug infested, dark unit with the flashlight on her phone! We were in shock. We asked to see the laundry room (out of politeness) as the woman showing us the property was very kind. When down there (the only place in the building with lights), we saw dead roaches all over the floor! I was trying to be kind but also panicking and saw one crawl on my boyfriend’s foot! I cannot believe this place is real! You couldn’t pay me to live in this place. I am itchy thinking about it.
They rented me an apartment while they knew it was infected with bed bugs. I found bed bugs on the first night. So I moved out immediately after informing them. The neighbors had bed bugs too. But the property management did not professionally spray the building. After moving out and returning the apartment key, they did not return my deposit and the first month's rent. Instead, they filed a claim for a whole year's rent as my contract was a one-year contract. Going to court, I lost my income. The process took more than two months. During it, I learned they have many cases. So I was not their first victim. They had a lawyer to help them win poor renters. They do not care about others. My experience was so terrifying that I decided not to rent from any property management anymore. Since they usually are for-profit and miss use the rules and regulations for their benefit without respecting the renter's rights.
