December of 2024: The ER could not find our insurance, even when provided with a current ID card. Turns out, they were looking under the wrong file. They told us they would find it and their billing department would fix the error in our insurance. Our ER visit and subsequent surgery resulted in 100% billed out of pocket, even though Providence ER had confirmed they would bill the insurance. This is a failure on Providence Newberg management and their training. Any person in their admissions or billing department should know that Blue Cross/ Blue Shield and RGA are 2 different files and to ALWAYS search both. September of 2025: I am still fighting bills from Providence and their anesthesia provider, Premiere Anesthesia of Oregon. They are incapable of following through and doing their job. Premiere Anesthesia sent me to collections on a bill that was never sent to me, and was NOT patient responsibility. DO NOT COME HERE unless you want to spend the next YEAR of your life fighting insurance. Providence, do better. 2 stars only because the surgeon saved my husbands life. Dr. Greg Stroup was the only redeeming factor. He was great, very personable, and didn't make us feel uneducated when it came to explaining the procedure.
I want to express my deepest gratitude to the entire team at Providence Newberg Medical Center. Recently, I was rushed to the hospital with a critical health crisis due to high blood pressure and kidney failure, which made it incredibly difficult to breathe. Honestly, I thought my life was coming to an end. From the moment the ambulance arrived, the speed and efficiency were remarkable. Upon arrival, the care I received from every nurse and doctor was exceptional. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication saved my life. I felt supported and cared for throughout my entire stay, which made an immense difference in my recovery. I wholeheartedly recommend Providence Newberg Medical Center to anyone in need of medical care. The level of professionalism and genuine concern for patients is truly outstanding. Thank you all for giving me a second chance at life.
Thank-you Providence Newberg Medical Center: Our experience at Providence Newberg Medical Center was truly exceptional. My 101-year-old mom was brought into the ER by TVFR following an apparent cardiac event at our home. The ER staff exhibited remarkable attentiveness and friendliness upon our hurried arrival. The ER staff promptly responded to the situation and treated my mother with utmost respect. The nurses demonstrated sensitivity to the circumstances and interacted with my elderly mom with great care. The ER physician engaged with us personally, discussing my mom's condition calmly and supportively, ensuring that the available options were clearly understood. Additionally, the hospitalist, Dr. Lee Anthony, took the time to explain my mom's admission process and the potential paths we could take, providing invaluable support and guidance. They were both such great representatives for Providence Medical Center in Newberg. Both doctors showcased top-notch professionalism and expertise. Once my mom was stabilized, we were transferred to a beautiful room in the Med-Surge Unit where family members could be present. Transitioning to end-of-life comfort care is inherently difficult, but the nursing staff exhibited exceptional consideration and compassion, particularly towards family members bidding farewell to their grandmother. We should recognize our Nurses Kate, Jacob and Melissa for their gentle competent care. My wife and daughter, who are nurses themselves, found this experience truly extraordinary. Our family is immensely grateful for the exemplary care and support provided by the doctors and nurses during this challenging time.
Ever since the lab clinic was outsourced, I've never had such a mess getting my labs done. When it was done by Providence, it was efficient in and out with minimal wait times. With LabCorp, it's VERY long wait times, check-in terminals that don't work causing long delays for scores of patients. It's very disappointing. I worry other "cost saving" changes will result in subpar patient care. I used to rate Providence very high, not any more.
