I really appreciate the team of wonderful people at this location. In particular, Darcie went above and beyond the call of duty. She was very kind, knowledgeable and eager to help. She figured out a quick solution that the competitor across the street and I did not even see as a possibility. I was not even a regular customer. But I am now. Thank you.

On Thursday, July 24, a Caucasian lady at the customer service desk made me feel very uncomfortable, as though I was stealing. She kept staring at me and then finally spoke to me. I confronted her and let her know how I felt. She insisted she wasn't thinking that but kept looking at me suspiciously. I finally explained to her I wanted to pop my popcorn and that I didn't steal and that they belonged to me. She stated, "You can't pop them upstairs; that's for employees." I stated, "I am a customer, so where then?" This is new to me because all the Publix locations have sitting rooms with microwaves and condiments upstairs; that is how the majority of their locations are designed. This location does things differently. Her tone to me was rude, and instead of her offering me where I could go, I had to explain myself as though I was a bum off the street. This location has rude staff; I encountered others like her that were also rude. I dislike this location.

Publix Supermarket is the premier supermarket chain in the south. The Publix in Vestavia, Alabama is no exception. The store is conveniently located just off highway 31 in the heart of the Vestavia community. I am always pleased with the cleanliness of the store. The shelves are always well stocked and orderly. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I must say that the deli and the meat departments are the best you will find anywhere in town. The store also has an excellent bakery as well as a top of the line pharmacy. This supermarket is a full service market. I highly recommend Publix at Vestavia.
